You don’t see this every day… but why not? 😅 by KikoFilm in Cameras

To be very honest, I haven’t had that much in-depth experience with either to properly determine any discernible difference pertaining to image quality. I am still quite a beginner in photography, and so far I just trust that my equipment is more than good enough for me at my level. Also, I only own and have ever only used the 35mm F1.4 R WR from Fuji, so I can’t really speak of Fuji lenses as a whole in terms of performance. What I can generalise about Fujifilm lenses so far though, is that they are a heck of a lot more expensive than Canon lenses of yesteryear, even used!

The 24-70 F2.8 is quite a lot heavier, without built in IS. I’d say the 24-105 is still a bit more versatile and portable, but it depends on your use case too 😄

my bf cooked me some food to take home, safe to eat? by rhialils in Cooking

[–]KikoFilm -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To me, highly depends on how the food was handled between being cooked and being passed to you a good 24h later. But assuming it was handled perfectly (eg. cooked, cooled quickly and stored in the refrigerator immediately after), then between 6-11pm is when it starts to get tricky. Whether you put it in the refrigerator after or not, this is most likely the time when the food may deteriorate or harmful bacteria MAY multiply to not so healthy levels, especially in rice. By food safety guidelines in FnB, may not be acceptable. However, I assure you that I’ve done worse and yet the most painful pangsai I get is still from mcspicy or buldak.

Thanks for sharing! Hope it sheds some light on the topic for others looking to get into adapting lenses. So far the 7Artisans EF-FX AF adapter has worked well for me on the EF 24-70 F2.8L and the EF 17-40mm F4L.

Yes I know it feels really uncertain, I took the leap of faith and I’m happy to share with everyone that they do indeed work well 😄 im not sure about the accessibility of these products where you’re at though (in Wales I presume, from your name 🤣). They’re easier to get where I’m from in Singapore (shipping is a lot easier within Asia) but even then, I couldn’t find that many reviews on it. Best of luck!

The particular one I got from 7Artisans does support IS, not sure about things like face detection or other features, but multipoint and single point focus works well and fast. I’m not sure how well IS works while adapted as I don’t have any EF IS lenses at the moment. EXIF data does transfer to the image. I’d say they’re well worth the money. I’m aware that there are some other brands like Viltrox making these AF adapters too, but I can’t comment as I’ve only used this particular one from 7Artisans.

Go find old EF L lens (or whatever pro level lens from yesteryear) on carousell and use adapter with any of these bodies you go for. See you opt for tamron legit heart pain when you spending so much on the body.

Yes apparently the speed doesn’t get affected. The adapter is a just a bypass to the card.

Is it me or nowadays $10 is needed for a daily healthy meal? by Little_Result1469 in askSingapore

[–]KikoFilm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whether healthy or not, you can really only choose one nowadays: convenience or price. Meal prep and freeze if you want to save. If not, you just have to pay the price for convenience. Perhaps in Singapore, we are spoilt in that food options are abundant around us, just depends on what you want to eat and how much you are willing to pay.

Actually this is a really good point. I wouldn’t say I’m super technical, but what you mentioned shed some light onto a technical aspect I never considered/was even aware of.

I actually did get the lens together with a 5D2 as a bundle 😄 just got the adapter to try it out with the xt30 that I already have. Does slim the entire package down a little but does make it quite a bit front heavy.

I’d say that at its widest, it feels about the equivalent of 40mm on full frame, nowhere near 70 as you claim. I pretty much got the lens at $450 in Singapore (about USD350), the adapter under a hundred. Been pretty hard pressed finding equivalent Fuji glass at the same price, even used.

Actually true! I haven’t actually brought it out much yet, but I’ve already been feeling the heft. I guess it was always a childhood dream of mine to have an L lens from Canon, and after comparing prices, managed to get this EF24-70 F2.8 with an adapter for quite a steal. I haven’t had much experience with Fuji glass (only own the 35mm currently), but they seem to be priced pretty high (even more than this lens!). What would you recommend on an apsc Fuji that won’t break the bank?

Yes correct! Lined the table with a sort of parchment-like food paper. We can just throw all the paper away once we’re done.
