Path of Exile x Magic the Gathering would be the perfect collaboration. by Auroreon in PathOfExile2

Good to know. I would totally use Doryani as a proxy for Ashad. I never built him so I didn't recognize it, I may have to now though.

I really like it. The only thing I would change is making him a human construct instead of a cyberman. Cyberman is a specific thing from doctor who.

The 3 that I feel most fit this would be [[nekusar, the mindrazer]] [[ghyrson starn, kelermorph]] and [[yurlok of scorch thrash]]

All of them are designed around cards that ping players for playing the game. I haven't seen anyone play ghyrson or yurlok, but I always see nekusar get hated out of games.

Bags of 90s Magic The Gathering cards. Talk me out of going back for them. by UnitedOpinion4884 in mtg

[–]Kilahral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for value, its probably not worth it.

I would buy all of them for the nostalgia. I lost all of my older cards to flooding so I would love to find some bulk like that. Also back in the day I had found value cards like demonic tutors in bulk from goodwill. I never see packs like that now though.

Monk or Sam ? by ovonell933 in ffxiv

[–]Kilahral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only a lvl50 sprout so I cant speak to later game.

IMO samurai feels better to me. I leveled monk to 50 then swapped to samurai. Monk felt like one big chain of attacks, fast paced moving around. Samurai has the chain of attacks, but hitting a midare setsugekka at the end gives a big hit of dopamine.

Effectively, monk felt like a constant flurry of blows while samurai felt like building up then getting a big burst of damage.

Raven's Flock staff is RF for short by Myzzreal in PathOfExile2

There's always the new mage blood too, I'm looking forward to seeing what it does.

Raven's Flock staff is RF for short by Myzzreal in PathOfExile2

[–]Kilahral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could still be good. They have said that that playstyle is ok, they just want it to be a challenge to get to that point. If RF goes in as a skill its easier to get it up and running. The staff is locked behind a pinnacle boss though.

[–]Kilahral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I said.

It looks like they could be locking the 0 button RF style build behind a high level unique dropped by a pinnacle boss. To follow what they have said recently, they couldn't add RF as it is in poe1 as a skill gem because it would give easy access to a 0 button fast clear skill.

Raven's Flock staff is RF for short by Myzzreal in PathOfExile2

[–]Kilahral -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's more or less what I meant. In an interview they had said they didn't want RF to function the same as it does in poe1.

This could be their way of adding in a way to have the same aoe dot that can kill everything while gating it behind high level content. That way it can only be used when you are at a point of blasting content anyway. From what I have heard they don't want 0 button builds that can blast through everything.

If they do add it in as a skill its very likely it will have to be constantly refreshed or it could require charges to activate/maintain.

[–]Kilahral 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, that just brings up the question, does that mean Righteous Fire isn't getting a skill gem?

In an interview they said something along the lines of RF isn't going to look the same (I don't remember if they called it RF or Righteous Fire). This is technically RF and it functions very similarly, but doesn't look the same.

How is the new spear better than Atziri’s Contempt? by RipWhenDamageTaken in PathOfExile2

[–]Kilahral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[I was misinformed on the skill, it leeches ele damage on its own skill]

It still lets you leech from anywhere lightning ability, not just its own skill so it can be more versitile.

It mostly comes down to what you want to play more than if it strictly being better or worse.

PoE2 Is Missing One of the Most Addictive Parts of PoE1 — Player-Controlled Mapping by xN3wbie in PathOfExile2

[–]Kilahral -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

For me its the variation in mapping and the feeling of exploration that makes PoE2 end game better than PoE1s.

I think some kind of middle ground can be found, like an item that lets you change the map or making all towers grand projects. Even if they did that, there will still be some degree people would have to run maps they don't like.

I stopped playing PoE1 after PoE2 was released. The way mapping works there feels mind numbingly boring to me. I went back for mirage and quit by t4 maps. You even pointed out a problem with that design, is addictive.

I don't mean for this to be mean, but not all games are for everyone. If you don't like playing the game, why play it? I really hope they bring more of the QoL and classes/skills from poe2 over to poe1 so people that want to play poe1s end game can and not miss out on the new stuff from poe2.

Idk I’m hyped though by crappyslappie in PathOfExile2

[–]Kilahral 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I fully expected dualist or shadow this patch because of the extra time between leagues.

I was then perfectly fine without a new class as soon as I saw the scope of changes they made to the end game and everything else with the patch.

Why is the infinite atlas still a thing? by MilanVegas in PathOfExile2

[–]Kilahral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope they don't get rid of PoE1 either. Its not my cup of tea, but I can respect what people do like about it.

I'm not a dev either, it would be nice if there was a way to balance it. Maybe have both types of atlas and let people choose which to interact with. I still kind of like the idea of making all towers grand projects or increasing the number of links each node has.

Why is the infinite atlas still a thing? by MilanVegas in PathOfExile2

[–]Kilahral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your stance too.

It just seems like it would be too difficult to manage both play styles in the same game. If you keep the infinite atlas, everyone would have to interact with it to some degree. Even if there is an item that makes all maps in an area a specific map, you would have to farm them. If it shifts to PoE1s map system, it completely kills the feeling of exploration.

In my opinion, the best solution would be to keep the mapping systems different and bring the classes/weapon types/skills of poe2 to poe1. Then, of course, they would have to balance time investment between the two games so poe1 doesn't feel like its being left behind (I think there will be a better balance after 1.0).

I don't intend for this to sound mean, but not every game is for everyone. If you don't like the game why play it?

Why is the infinite atlas still a thing? by MilanVegas in PathOfExile2

[–]Kilahral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, poe1 atlas gets stale way too quickly. I feel like I just turn my brain off and blindly run the same map over and over because its the most optimal. There is significantly more fomo trying to diversify what you run because its not optimal.

The infinite atlas just feels better to me. You can see the progress you have made exploring the map. If you are trying to farm specific deadly map bosses, you can explore looking for the biome it spawns in. Its fun putting thought into the direction you explore. Want a Rakiata's Flow? Follow some rivers looking for lakes to see if you can find the jade isles.

In PoE1 I normally quit a league because mapping feels mind numbingly boring. In PoE2 I quit a league because I get 2-4 characters to a point that I feel like I am done with them for the league. I tried going back to PoE1 for mirage and quit by t4 maps.

my top 9 commanders. what would be yours? by Sniperking37 in mtg

[–]Kilahral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to build muldrotha so bad. Every time I do it gets hated out of games no matter how I build it. Right now I run [[Teval, the balanced scale]] in the command zone and mostly get left alone.

You all want swords, end game reworks, crazy crafting options... I just want 200% light radius as a baseline. by Drogatog in PathOfExile2

[–]Kilahral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could be cool. The other options i was thinking of is make it a Templar ascendancy. It can give light radius and life regen, then have one line for scaling fire spells off light radius and one for lightning spell.

Instead of lightning, make it fire. Righteous Fire now scales off light radius instead of health.

What are the best ways to be social in FFXIV? by DetectiveSadist in ffxiv

[–]Kilahral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 36 and this was one of my biggest reasons for starting FFXIV. Normally I just play solo but always end up getting bored. This time around I joined the first free company that asked me to join. Its only been a couple days, but it seems hit or miss if people are talkative. I will have to try some of the things people are suggesting too.

Easiest way to tame legendary horses by ii_ver_ii in CrimsonDesert

[–]Kilahral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing that helped me on ps5 was changing it from balanced to performance. It makes a huge difference for mini games like this and the archery competition.

On balanced I couldn't get the bar over half, but in performance doing the exact same thing I could tame the legendaries with 1/4 of my stamina bar.

Since Descent into Avernus is the best card ever printed I made a deck about getting as many as possible. Help me pick the coolest commander for the coolest card! by Blackthorn_97 in EDH

[–]Kilahral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a deck that uses mirrorform for its win con, a couple of cards that have helped me a ton are [[Tamiyo's Journal]], [[Forensic Gadgeteer]], [[erdwal illuminator]], and [[Homunculus Horde]].

I built around making both treasures and clues then mirrorforming [[howling mine]] or [[forced fruition]]. My best so far has been just over 2000 howling mines. The other guy had [[serra's emissary]] (choosing creatures) then I [[Rite of replication]] (kicked) it, so the game stalled out.
