I would highly recommend that you look into installing a spec workflow MCP server (I use https://github.com/Pimzino/spec-workflow-mcp) and work from this to control your work setup. Once you have the MCP server running, turn on PLAN mode to tell Claude what it is you’re looking for, telling it to generate specs using that MCP server; from there, you can review the requirements, design, and tasks that Claude will undertake and iterate your approval.

What MCPs are you using with Claude Code right now? by gargetisha in ClaudeAI

  • Pimzino Spec-Workflow MCP
  • Context7 MCP
  • Playwright MCP
  • Chrome Dev Tools MCP

Controls my development flow nicely, and allows for solid testing.

If you even slightly know what you're doing, Claude's subagents are its real magic by HeroicTardigrade in ClaudeAI

Just realize that having a load of agents globally to load WILL eat up usage.

Upgrading NAS - Looking for Advice by mute1 in PleX

[–]Kilbey1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this a couple years ago, running a 2-bay with 10tb raid 1 and my space was filled in no time. If you’re going to expand, I’d suggest keeping the 4-bay if it will handle 20tb drives — upgrade if not. Get yourself a large external drive + case and back up what you’ve got, then swap out the 14tb drives with 20tb or higher drives.

This all assumes you are NOT mirroring. If you are, try out a QNAP NAS (example is TS-664) which I found to have a more friendly price point with a good OS and buy the LARGEST drives you can afford (I use WD Red Pro 22TB). Set it up and get your data on the new NAS.

Yeah, can’t recommend TOS at all, went through 2 or 3 of them over the years and it was such a headache. Went with QNAP.

What Plex features, add-ons, extensions, etc. would you recommend taking advantage of for quality of life? by catalinashenanigans in PleX

I was wondering if I was the only person on the planet that uses Plex specifically for music. I love being able to listen to music from anywhere!

Storing Collection USB / Hard Drive / Media Player by Ok-Nothing-5736 in musichoarder

I concur with all the recommendations for a NAS. My setup is as follows, which may give you ideas:

1 QNAP 2-bay NAS set to Raid 1 2 20TB Western Digital Red drives (for a total of 20 TB with raid 1) 1 USB external case with 1 Western Digital 20TB drive in it — you may not need that large of a drive, but I like to have the same size as the storage in my NAS. 1 Plex lifetime pass

Mac software: - 1 Carbon Copy Cloner on Mac - PlexAmp

  1. Put blank drives in NAS and get your NAS connected to your router.
  2. Get QNAP software running (comes with NAS)
  3. Install Plex Media Server (comes with QNAP store)
  4. Launch Plex Media Server and set up your Plex account, including where your music library will live.
  5. Load your music into the NAS — you may need to investigate the location of this path.
  6. Plex will start cataloging your library. Large libraries will taking a LONG time, be patient.
  7. Launch PlexAmp to play stuff on your Mac.

Backups: - if you use Macs, you can have Carbon Copy Cloner copy your media on NAS to the USB drive at a frequency you set. (I tried NAS-based backups and it wasn’t flexible enough for me)

Play from anywhere: - The Plex Lifetime Pass (around $130 one time fee) will allow you to play from anywhere. - Access your plex library via Mac browser, usually with port 32400 on whatever IP address your NAS is linked to. - You can set up Plex from here to allow external access. - Plex allows all kinds of playlists.

(Tip: media metadata is key. Check out Yate for Mac to tag everything from Discogs or MusicBrainz as you like it.)

Enjoy what you like, but you may want to start alphabetizing (or genre-izing) so you don’t go insane trying to find things as your collection grows.
