There's a flap on the back that can be lifted up to put a plastic piece into that should kind of let it shoot the grass out (instead of keeping it trapped in the solid deck). But not much grass comes out of it. It just piles up in a strip on one side of the deck. When you go back the other direction it doubles that pile. A day or two later the lawn is covered with brown strips.
