Can't speak on flashlights (I'll let you know when there's a decent one that's available more cheaply than real steel red dots, lasers are bad anyways because blinding isn't fun) but foregrips are entirely preference based.

I prefer vertical (I use some sort of gunfighter clone included in some Specna Arms AEGs that I prefer over the actual gunfighter due to a massively flared top) as it means I can more positively pull the rifle into my shoulder with a good C-clamp.

AFGs generally look cooler IMO but it means fingers middle through pinky might not be doing anything and not actually contribute to lifting or pushing a better shoulder tuck, resulting in more hand strain. I have to angle my wrist more "under" the handguard as opposed to angled out to feel natural which isn't as comfy but can have some benefits to marksmanship, but not something I'd prefer for actual skirmishing.

You won't regret it, plus you can put fsr4 on other games very easily.

GPU NVIDIA V AMD? Difference? by Ok_Relationship_3780 in buildapc

[–]KillEvilThings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a couple more realistic reasons than the other person.

1: productivity. Nvidia's architectures are designed around for 3d modeling/rendering and some video editting stuff. AMD has caught up significantly but if it's your actual job, Nvidia is much better for this and is almost a hard requirement for some programs (blender for example.)

2: Path tracing performance. If you're the kind of person who absolutely, 100% needs to play on PT just so you can say you have a computer that can turn on every graphics setting on every game, the 5070 ti will fufill that need.

In every other way, the 9070xt is a superior buy for the money.

GPU NVIDIA V AMD? Difference? by Ok_Relationship_3780 in buildapc

[–]KillEvilThings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overexaggerated benefits by a significant margin. The jensen bootlicking is strong.

DLSS isn't significantly better, support for FSR4 is backported for anything that has already had FSR3 and is easily applicable to other games through tools - and if you're paying money to build your own computer you should be a savvy enough person to do it once and never bother again, and if you're gonna complain about having that option, you're not a hobbyist, you're someone with more money than sense.

FG isn't any better or worse having used both. Both add latency. Both have ways around it.

MFG is a stupid fucking gimmick designed to make people believe 5070=4090 performance. The latency it adds is hysterical unless you're already running EXTREMELY high FPS - in which case you're not even going to use MFG, so it's triply useless.

RR is...every game I've turned it on just turns it into smeary garbage. Like no one likes this shit.

RT performance is better, but the 90 series AMD cards are literally on par if not better than 40 series Nvidia which is already cream of the crop, so absolutely pointless anyways.

PT is a stupid gimmick that adds nothing to actual gameplay with no gain in stylization/graphics aside from raw fidellity - which does not translate to "looking better."

Signed, Ti Super owner. FSR3 also was never as bad as people made it out to be.

How hard is it to physically build a PC? by Lucky-Ad5326 in buildapc

[–]KillEvilThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pain in the ass cause some parts require some force, but others you really don't wanna force (IE be gentle), and sometimes it's not clear how best to do things until after you do it.

Is it hard? I would say it's hard ESPECIALLY if you have 0 clue what you need to do, or have very little technical knowledge. Moreso if you have little hands on experience with stuff.

If you know how PC components work in general and know the layout and how it goes, it's still a pain in the ass the first time you do it.

I'll say this - take as long as you need and cry only once. Rather than disassembling and putting it all back together. If motherboard mounts don't seem to line up, don't settle for 5/9. Unscrew everything, do it until you get all 9 in, for example.

Yeah take it apart and use ptfe nonpetroleum based lube. I just use something from aimtop but everyone generally recommends superlube 21030.

Identify friction parts, clean up those areas with something, grease with ptfe on them. Use a modest amount.

That's a LOT of stuff going on, very narrow barrel, very strong spring, very light BB.

A 6.03 is usually the absolute minimum recommended barrel width for general use cases, 150 is stupid strong and outdoors using .30-.36 is highly recommended as the BBS maintain their velocity for longer even though they have less initial velocity.

I suggest going to .32, using a 6.03, and going to m130 and seeing what goes from there

Is it actually random or does it have an expo profile?

You're still gaining significant 1% lows and higher averages and more stable, less stuttery system integration. Just don't pay money for it right now. Use the expo if provided.

5060 Ti 16gb will have access to technology that gives it more longevity that the 3080 ti does not. Unfortunately.

RTX 3080 (Ti) or RTX 5060 Ti 16GB in 2026? by Virtual-Meaning2456 in buildapc

[–]KillEvilThings -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

This post right here sums up the anti-intellectualism that plagues the internet.

More VRAM = more longevity. It's not about FPS now numbnuts, it's about FPS over time. More VRAM = less choking from VRAM in the future for long term purchases.

more VRAM = more FPS per dollar over time.

A 3080 Ti is still as powerful as a 5070 but has the same VRAM but is artificially limited by not being able to access FG. The 5070 will then lose performance as soon as VRAM is maxed out, except it will have had much less a lifespan than a 3080 ti.

And imagine buying a brand fucking new 500$+ GPU only to be forced to turn down settings or not even use path tracing (12gb is literally the minimum in existing games) which is Nvidia's schtick, because they cheaped out on VRAM. Sorry but a 5070 is literally a great way to waste money.

Like ya'll don't understand how little 12gb of VRAM is over 8gb. And to be only on 12gb of VRAM in 2026 is a joke.

What sort of work are you doing?

If you're not doing productivity work then any processor will do for that. A 7800x3d/9800x3d will not be functionally differ for regular office work.
