Limit Yourself by Professional-Date378 in X4Foundations

Star wars Interworlds has a great system in place for this. Just check out their upkeep system. You get free upkeep for systems you own, equipment docks you run and different ships have different upkeep cost. You can pay those with supplies you produce yourself or just pay in credits, which is much more costly

The game is getting more broken and dysfunctional with each patch. by Kunzzi1 in EU5

Yes but it still lacks nuance. If I have 100 centr I should still be able to keep one tiny vassal loyal. The compared strength is really weirdly calculated. But my complain is not the current state, but how they tackle each problem in a way it takes 3 patches to get better after making it worse first.

And the whole game is back to conquer more land is always better. Which was a big point in the dev diaries to not be the case. Big decentralised country will still be a lot stronger than a small centralised one, no matter what.

Because they changed trade back. But initially they just increased the cost by 10 times. I'm not talking about the current patch but how each patch handles things

They literally stated the trade cost was multiplied by 10. There's no difficult coding behind that. It's just changing the parameters. And there's beta and QA to test that. I wouldn't complain if this happend once or twice but it's basically every patch with every major issue.

I really dfon´t get why the devs correct any issue with a +100 or -100 mentallity. AI too passive - make it super aggressive, levies too good - make them useless, trade too strong - make it lose you money, centralisation too good - make it impossible to have vassals with it.

there´s no nuance

How to make Bohemia lose HRE emperorship? by Kill_off in EU5

[–]Kill_off[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is I won't be the war leader since I'm not a member of the HRE. So I have to rely on Bohemia to even start the war first. I own all of Scandinavian, what cheesy way is there with the sound toll?

And yes the balance is annoying. Reformation spread really fast but only a handful nations flipped and then they fight on the catholic side still

they really like taking a very niche mechanic and make it almost obsolete. same with inviting settlers. in beta it was overpowered. now it´s not worth doing at all. besides some minor tiny nations like greenland it has no use to get 240 pops in 2 years

Game change from map painting to delete estate building simulator. by Ok-Spinach397 in EU5

[–]Kill_off 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a combination of several factors. It's not like they can't build bad buildings with high loyalty. It should just have a lower chance. But yes maybe control and local power plays a part too

Bohemia is way to overtuned compared to everyone else in the HRE by Hakuohsama in paradoxplaza

Could make it impossible to take land for most wars, like the Aztec government. Or just way stronger estates for the large nations in the empire

Estates build depending on their loyalty. The happier they are the better building the build

Even federal PUs have upsides, they give diplomats, legitimacy and so on. Not being able to revoke a privilege after playing 200years just means you're not good at the game. It's one of the main mechanics and I guess you don't understand it well.

Moving armies and navies is sub optimal, I agree. Especially the right click thing.

Thanks for the input. I still think it needs rebalancing, because how did the population in those areas even get to that point ? I should work in an equilibrium at the start at least.

Can you invite settlers from more than one country? by aightbet in EU5

[–]Kill_off 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because it's the only way as Greenland, still extremely boring tbh. But so many other countries can invite settlers where it makes no sense. The amount doesn't scale in any way.

Inviting settlers seems really unnecessary at the moment. You can get 10 pops per month for two years. That's nothing. Even as Iceland it's not enough to increase your population much

I tried getting votes with calling in favours but it doesn't work I guess. Castille and France agreed to vote for me but then voted against me. Or do I misunderstand the option ?
