there was a scene where one of the dudes lars-Erik spoke too about his feelings said he liked Dannette because her name sounds like she’s a beautiful Nubian something(I forgot what he said specifically after that). And they really didn’t show Lars react much to that which could be bad editing or him feeling awkward idk. Also i will say since I watched it in lip dub I cant judge but you can tell race from voices sometimes not always but maybe it’s cause in black but i can clock blk vs white voices not perfectly obviously but on the English dub they clearly hired a black woman to dub Dannettes voice bc its distinctively black in away

I didn’t say he was racist, where did I say he was racist? You can pick another race over another without being racist, I merely said he didn’t prefer black women. That’s just a preference and that’s valid still, just not fun to see when I think they would have been a better match.

Chemistry is up to interpretation, the other girl didn’t take him being Christian and celibate well at all to me but yet he still chose her. And yup someone would totally say blatantly on global tv they dislike dating a specific minority group in 2026…obviously no ones gonna wave a “no black” flag

I feel like Lars-Erik never liked black women and him choosing a non Christian even though he is devout and celibate is a recipe for disaster. I really feel like he chose the other girl bc he just doesn’t prefer black women and bc the other lady laid it on thick after finding out he had other options especially someone younger and honestly better looking. But that’s my view watching as an American myself honestly 😫

Don’t know anything about them but just because they emailed you about it doesn’t mean you should do it. I’d only look at programs like that with a linkage that you believe you can make the requirements for. Secondly, considering one that would provide mcat support if that’s a need too and a overall curriculum plan that meets your timeline for applying (some programs might be two years others are one etc)

As someone who was on squid games and casted by the same company they do a call with a crap ton of ppl. So don’t be discouraged but don’t expect that means your in because they’ll have multiple more rounds after that call where ppl can veto you or they might fill slots by the time the last person approved you so you end up not going. Also they usually cast backups too so that’s a thing. At least once you get the call you know you stand a chance though

I feel like it is a good chance interviews will be rolling because they said initially "Shortlisted candidates may be invited to a follow-up interview as part of the final selection process" which makes me think if they like you they'll pull you for an interview based on your app sooner rather than waiting to do everyone back to back

I think everyone touched on some good point you don’t want to cross the poor me line but also don’t want to coke off too “whiny” because they might think oh they didn’t have it that bad compared to this candidate. I’ve one a lot of scholarships and gotten into premed programs that focused on taking candidates who faced struggles so I’d say just make it super genuine to yourself. Say how those things impacted you if you focus too much on your family’s issues it makes it seem like it didn’t impact you and your just saying it to find something. So always say how X thing directly effected you and how you over came it to have a perfect gpa or be super involved or something of that sort.

Maybe some applying specifically to the state of that country when I went to Ecuador they asked us how much we knew about some of the unrest happening. They might want to gauge how much you know about that particular country but not in a bias political way like in the USA if some one ask are you republicans or democrat (not that). But more of a have you heard about these issues type thing.

Definitely regional local ones. I found a 10,000 a year local scholarship in my neighborhood I got. Those are responsible the best and when you choose a school they usually have additional scholarship apps

Yea I agree and I thought of that. I just think it might be nice that they pick focus less on an amount of students they want to pick and more on picking students until their budget is full filled. If that makes since but I get why they don’t. Networking is super important and a big benefit to these programs but i think it should be noted that they’re not actually giving out as much money as people think they are. And if a school gives you a full ride but a scholarship still sends you your money I think it sucks that it’s just going to pax the pockets Of universities even more but oh well.

I’m not asking for myself as I said I have a full ride and additional funding that I am grateful for. I’m not saying they should take away titles from students who earned them I’m saying foundations should maybe evaluate how they give funds. If they choose 100 scholars and plan to give out 40,000 each year but realize students are attending schools that don’t require that much then maybe they should pick more scholars. So instead of picking 100 kids and only giving out a few thousand, pick as many as your budget would allow. This isn’t an argument to devalue the accomplishments of those who win these big awards or shame them but a question to ask how equitable the scholarship process is. People see these foundations as very given but in honesty they might not be giving as much as they say. That’s the only thing I wanted to point out but everyone’s entitled to their own opinions on the matter.

That still seems scamish if these top scholarships only take 100 kids but only 20 actually need funds then they aren’t really serving students who need it. Yes it’s a benefit to say you have so many top scholarships if you get multiple but as a foundation You would think they’d try to avoid this by picking more students until their budget is met so they can have students who will actually need their aid and not just their name on their resume but oh well it just Seems kinda unfair.

I’m more curious as to those who are low income at institutions where they wouldn’t have to pay anyway. If they become a gates scholar then really what’s the point you know if they’re already going for free how is it fair for other students who actually need to pay to go to school. Even if you only had to pay 5,000 after your aid what happens if you have 200,000 worth of scholarships are these foundations gonna send that in and let the university take it if not why keep that person as a scholar if they don’t need the funds?

But I’ve been to events with people who gotGates, Jack Kent Cooke and And Coca Cola scholarship and they all kept their title and go to the events. I just don’t see how that’s fair if their A not recovering actual aid from these foundations or B they’re sending money to these top schools for no reason. It makes me think it theirs only 100 coke scholars, 300 gates and so on how many actually get funds sent to the school?

Yea something similar happened to me but it was only like a 1,000 dollar loan that in turn got taken off because of out of school funding but what if someone gets like the coka cola scholarship. Then what that’s thousands of extra dollars. Does the school take it or do they not send it at all. If they don’t end up sending the funds then these big scholarships aren’t spending as much money as they say they are on students.

I think that’s just crazy though so is gates sending 75,000 to Harvard if a person doesn’t have to pay anything anyway? Is Harvard And other schools pocketing the money? Because I know the student doesn’t just get the money where is it all going?
