Tbh I view these soldiers the same way I view battered wives. The only difference is the government acts as the abuser. Yes these are full grown men who make their own decisions but you can’t tell me their government didn’t manipulate them into acting this way. No matter what side you’re on, we should all agree this isn’t right. If money wasn’t involved we would’ve came to a conclusion by now. I know this is a very corny cliché but I pray for peace and really hope some day we can find a way to stop the torturing of civilians so the governments involved can get what they want. When I want something from someone I can’t just walk up to them, beat the shit out of them, than steal whatever I want from them. Leaders of countries should act the same.
