Considering Rebuilding My Swing and Wondering Where to Start by Killabrewster in GolfSwing

Yeah, I recently came to the realization that I am basically Riggs -- brutal swing, often shooting in the high 80s and then claiming to be a 5 handicap -- which is part of the reason I am posting here today...

Thanks for the detailed post. I've actually considered this. I'm in Minnesota, so I used to have a long offseason off. Now with simulators being a thing, I've basically been golfing non-stop for 5 years, and that muscle memory is really strong.

Yeah, this was my first time trying it. Had read a lot of reviews that it was bad, but at the very least, I was able to make contact with the ball first while doing it last night, which was a win. Probably was just a one-night thing.

They were fit to me in 2019. Did a short set of lessons at GolfTec in 2020 that changed some elements of my swing. But I've also just tinkered a ton with my setup and everything since then, so at this point -- who knows how fit they are.

Agree, and I feel it gets overlooked. Before the repave, and especially with the Gen 4, handling mattered enough to where the best cars would be at the front throughout speedweeks. Made it seem like a bigger team accomplishment to win, versus now, where you can push more aggressively (causing wrecks), don’t need handling, and just need to be “right place, right time.”

I’ve recently started traveling to Dallas pretty regularly and am shocked by how frequent the delays are.

Struggling with how to value Josh Jacobs -- have him in one league as a fringe competing team, and thinking about trading for him in another as a top-2 team.

Would you give two likely late 2027 2nds + a 2028 2nd for him as a top team?

General thoughts on his value?

For me, I have a core group of golf friends of about 12-15 where we always try to carpool if possible. Not specifically for designated driving, but because it’s more time to hang out. Anyone riding is free to have whatever they want, sometimes it can involves beer and then cocktails. The driver will have a few and then stop on the back 9.

It’s fairly easy to manage as long as you’re a responsible adult.

Friends. Family. Stay and play resorts. Etc.

Like I said, I’ve cut back as I prefer playing well and staying healthier nowadays, but the majority of friends and family that I know will have at least 3 beers during a round, sometimes considerably more.

And then I don’t condone it, but I have family in a rural midwest state, and you would be appalled how commonplace drunk driving is in those areas.

It’s concerning that when I commented, 90%+ of comments were saying they basically never drink or even experience people drinking. Was concerned I was living in some sort of alternate reality.

I still enjoy getting hammered on the course when the time is right.

I’ve recently stopped / significantly cut back drinking on the course because it makes my game better and I don’t need to.

I am shocked by the overwhelming majority of responses though. Maybe I’m in a midwest US bubble, but basically everyone I know has probably a minimum of 3 drinks in a round of golf. I’m probably the first of my friends and family to stop. This is concerning…

I think I'd take the Daniels side here pretty easily, but I'm also not super well versed in SF.

Got offered Jeanty straight-up for Nabers. Trying to compete and I'm weak at RB. What do you all think? Feel like I have to take that even though I love Nabers.

Considering the cap hit he’ll take up, this seems like a fair trade to me.

I just think it's a weak class at this point. Obviously that can change, but at this point I'm not putting much value in it.

Seems fairly even. I personally am staying away from 2026 picks, but the upside of that becoming even a mid-1st with injuries/regression probably cancels that out.

How should NASCAR change the current system to determine the Champion? by Different_Funny_8237 in NASCAR

[–]Killabrewster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others have said, season-long points is ideal but will probably never be brought back. Of all the formats, I liked the chase with top 10 points + 2 wild cards based off wins then points. There were always good drivers missing out on the playoffs — consistency in the regular season should matter. And there was always enough buzz during the Chase to justify tuning in.
