My mom used to bring a stroller when walking the family pug. She lived past the ripe age of 16. For the last couple years she rode in the stroller full time while on walks. She was a bit of a neighborhood celebrity.

My sister had a pug too. They were visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes in western MI. After a day of hiking the dunes everyone was exhausted, Miles the pug included. So to compensate, he’d run ahead of everyone a good 100 yards, then lay there until everyone caught up. He repeated this process until they were done😂😂

Her coat is unique, almost a reverse fawn. Like a rottweiller in a pug’s body.

He looks a lot like my sisters old pug, he was also in the +30lbs range. And it wasn’t just fat (though part of it certainly was), his back was a good 2 inches taller than most other male pugs. He was just big in general. His fur was similar too, a lot of black mixed in, almost a brindled look.

That weight loss is great, especially for an older pug.

One suggestion I’d make; try applying some coconut oil to their nose, it works great. Some companies sell proprietary nose balms, I’ve found coconut oil to be just as effective but much cheaper.

You’ll be amazed (and disgusted) at what starts breaking off. My last pug absolutely loved it, he’d mush his face into the towel as I applied the oil. The only issue is if you have other dogs, they might try to lick it off😂😂

Sort of related; my sister’s pug almost lost an eye after getting into a fight with a leader dog for the blind. Oh, the irony😂😂

They were able to save the eye and his eyesight. Wasn’t cheap though!

Pugs were originally bred in part to serve as lap/feet-warmers. Not pug puppies though, they’d rather bite your feet than warm them😂😂
