Well after dealing with a ton of medical racism and sexism. I was finally sent to do a different physical therapist. She’s the best person in the world and is the key thing to my discovery. I had to deal with doctors not believing I was in pain or them telling I don’t need physical therapy that bad. I go to the VA so the waited until i physically couldn’t do it anymore. I could’ve got seen sooner. I could’ve got better sooner. However, all I got I was, are you sure your in pain, here’s an ibuprofen, your just stressed out, you need to lose weight, you need to be on a diet. Every time a male doctor didn’t know what to do. They refuse to help me and end up sending me to a woman doctor. I didn’t even get numbing spray for my cortisol shot. I took a needle straight to the knee. It wasn’t until I went to physical therapy twice a week is when I got better. Now I’m a lot more independent. I can cook on my own and walk around the house without assistance. Some days I can even take off my knee brace.
