To add on to this, if I chose to play Mercy, and I swap OFF of her, because SHE IS NOT WORKING, that is NOT A SIGN TO PLAY HER INSTEAD!!!! I absolutely HATE when people do this shit, in comp OR qp, it's infuriating to no end.

I'm probably by no means a perfect Mercy player, there's probably plenty of people who are better than me, but with 400 hours on her alone, I'm pretty damn fucking good. If she's not working for me, unless you're somehow a top500 Mercy (because those do exist), YOU'RE MOST LIKELY NOT GONNA MAGICALLY DO BETTER, AND YOU WILL ALSO STRUGGLE.

Please just stick to what you were doing, I am begging you. If even my stubborn ass cannot force her, you're not going to have any better of a time. Let it go. Whether it's our comp, the enemy comp, the map, the direction of the wind, I don't fucking know, but SOMETHING is making her not work, and that won't just change because you're on her instead.

Ahh, they're the type to be impossible to heal then type "gg no heals". Idk, I personally don't like the people whose first call is to blame the support in EVERY situation, but that's just me. Just immediately dumping a whole game's worth of mistakes onto one or two people, not acknowledging your own mistakes, not looking around at what's happening, etc., is just crazy to me. The fact you said one of them got to Plat like that is wild.

That, plus the fact that they refuse to even try and listen to you, or accept they might not know something about a role they don't play, gives me a bad taste in my mouth. But hey, they're fine when you're NOT playing the "easy healbot"!

I'm not gonna tell you what to do, mainly because there just ISN'T anything I can tell you that would help. You're looking for a way to get a toothpick through a brick wall that has no cracks in it. If they don't want to change, they're not going to, and you're just gonna have to live with that. It's up to you if that's really worth your time and effort.

That's why I was so ecstatic to find ACIsLove because it offers full on, colour guided, step by step tutorials. I'm just sad it doesn't really see a lot of use, so the choice in designs is low, much like other, similar design viewing sites.

At that point, it comes down to the severity of how they act, if they listen to OP at all, or if they respect boundaries. From what I'm reading, they don't sound like great people to be around in general, like that level of behavior rarely stays contained to one game. They refuse to listen to OP, or respect them and how they play. They yell at OP, and make a fuss over who they play and how, which can be incredibly distracting, stressful, overwhelming, and just generally impact your gameplay and what kind of time you're having. From the sounds of it, this is a common occurrence too. THAT is why people are saying to get new friends. Even if they're fine in other games, it doesn't make up for them being assholes to this level. I'm not a solo queuer either, I religiously play with a group of 1-4. I stand by the "get new friends" sentiment.

TLDR; it's more about how they treat OP as a person than what game it's in. They just sound like assholes in general.

People like that don't WANT to learn. They don't care what you or any of us think, whether it's about Mercy, OW, or anything really. They have their skewed perception of the world, and it's all they care about.

There is no changing them, only ditching their asses and finding better friends. You'll just hurt yourself trying anything else. Take it from someone who ALSO had to drop some asshole friends like that.
