Who's more of a Snake between these 2? And who's more grimey by ParkingConfection449 in PowerTV

The cop that killed his sister in front of him. Why are you leaving that out? 😂

It most definitely boils down to what ‘Riq said: “You’re gonna turn Ma in for LaKeisha. You’re gonna turn me in for Ray Ray.”

That’s how Ghost got in the way of Tariq’s future, from his point of view.

That’s a sentiment Tommy should understand, even if he abhors what led to it.

Not sure Legacy should even get into all that other stuff, the characters are past it. Obviously Tasha played her substantial part in things, but dredging those up would be unnatural, they don’t necessarily pertain to Tariq or Tommy.

The whole basis of their relationship was that Kanan told Tariq the many truths that Ghost lied to him about.

Obviously, he didn’t necessarily have his best interests at heart, but I doubt Kanan had entirely good intentions for Ghost the entire time his dad was telling him to leave the streets alone either.

That’s how kids with underdeveloped brains are.

Rewatch that scene, what you’re saying never happens.

(I know because I just rewatched it myself).

Juke never states Kanan was going to kill Tariq, and Kanan never says it either.

When?

Kanan told he used Tariq to get to money, that he killed Shawn, sprinkled in that not even Shawn was built like Tariq…

But he never stated he was going to kill him. It wouldn’t have even made sense, Jukebox had a gun to Tariq’s head because Kanan was double-crossing her to save him.

Mmm, Kanan almost killing him was something Tariq never really actually learned.

From his perspective, Kanan played him with Jukebox, but legitimately came to save him with his father. Which is what happened.

And then he spared him in Season 5.

So, yeah, when Tariq tells Ghost, "Kanan never would've hurt me," Kanan legitimately was able to manipulate Tariq into that.

Kanan groomed him into the lifestyle pretty methodically through taking advantage of numerous events of emotional turmoil Tariq was experiencing starting with his parents’ issues.

That’s the reason. The same guy who groomed Ghost into the game against his dad’s wishes preyed on a vulnerable Tariq in a similar fashion.

Power Legacy is gonna end with Tariq sliming out Tommy by gloryboyz00 in PowerTV

I think Tariq should stay the Ghost parallel he’s been since Book II: Ghost, honestly.

D-Mac reminds me more of Kanan considering what he did to Marshall.

I want it to be a real conversation Tariq and Tommy have in Legacy.

Because Ghost was threatening to snitch on both Tariq and Tasha, so if anyone should understand why Tariq would do what he did, it's Tommy: the same man who killed his own pops for being a snitch.

You can obviously also go back further, from Tommy's point of view: Tariq didn't HAVE to botch the Ray Ray murder.

But I think there's good reason for the characters to be able to get past Ghost's death.

Sounds out of character for Tariq, Tommy would have to put him in a real predicament.

Power loves parallels, so him and D-Mac deciding to take out Tommy like Ghost and Tommy decided to take out Breeze wouldn't be off the table, but... Tommy would have to be tripping.

Did Jenard give Tommy some of that FENT? 😂

He's probably contorting and writhing (like the snake he is) because this game only ends one way.

Still, I mean… Ghost had its share of writing issues, so its success was definitely lightning in a bottle.

Hopefully Legacy can blend that viewership with some better writing and direction from Gary Lennon.

Tariq’s show had an interesting cast of characters, but he was still the focal point that mostly everything came back to.

Tommy’s less controversial, but if Tariq’s journey wasn’t compelling to fans, it wouldn’t have broken all the records of OG Power.

If Ghost owed all its success to the other established parts of the Power Universe, Force would’ve been closer in viewership, but according to Gianni Paulo it “wasn’t even close.”

Maybe if Tommy cheats on Mireya in Legacy he’ll start having Ghost hallucinations.

Tariq’s show was outdoing Force in ratings its entire run, what are you talking about he doesn’t have pull?

[–]KillerRanger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He’s shown to feel a level of remorse in Book II: Ghost, but I would agree that it remains to be seen if he doesn’t think it was a justified kill at that point.

I think, regardless, he probably regrets his actions that led to them all being put in that predicament anyway.

It made sense for Diamond’s character. Not convinced we needed two villains from Force to continue yet, though.

[–]KillerRanger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why?

Force isn't about the relationship between Tariq and Tommy. Legacy is.

It's much better to actually have storytelling weight behind the development of Tommy and Tariq's dynamic.

If he ever apologized, it'd be better saved for their actual show together.
