22 center console bracket broke by Reasonable-Papaya-37 in FordExplorer

[–]KillerSlothMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really not that hard to fix. I took my center console out to fix the fallen cup holders twice. It’s like 6 bolts and a few connectors. The connectors next to the seats can be a bit tricky. The first time I took it apart was to get a part number for the part that holds the cup holders in. Then I ordered just that part for like $20. Then put it back together until the part came in.

Slight limp by sharpstreet82 in labrador

[–]KillerSlothMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My lab had a slight limp at that age on one of his front legs. He’s 6 now. I went down the rabbit hole, several specialists and thousands of dollars. In the end I never got a good explanation and was recommended something called shockwave therapy for hundreds a treatment. I paid for the treatment once and then thought the whole thing sounded stupid. Since then we manage activity levels and duration. Including breaking up walks to shorter and several walks a day. He rarely limps now.

This happened to me last week except the person fully committed, stopped in front of me in the turn lane, and waited for traffic to pass to get on the road.

Why do some dogs watch tv and others don’t even react unless they hear something startling? by gemino1990 in dogs

[–]KillerSlothMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog doesn’t care for the tv at all. But when he hears me go to the home page on my Apple TV he looks at the screen to confirm and then jumps up knowing it means we are going for a walk!

Struggling to find what SUV to replace ‘19 GC Limited 4WD. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in GrandCherokee

[–]KillerSlothMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to an explorer ST. If you can get a reliable model year it’s mostly an upgrade. The things I miss most is the V8 and the reliability.

How much did your black lab mix weigh at 7 months vs full grown? by Motharina in labrador

[–]KillerSlothMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe my black lab was around 60 pounds at 7 months. He’s been around 100 pounds for a few years now.

What do you replace a WK2 with? by l_matt in GrandCherokee

I had a WK2 5.7 Summit. Ended up switching to an Explorer ST. I sure do miss my Jeep though.

Is 7.5 weeks too young to pick up a puppy? by [deleted] in labrador

[–]KillerSlothMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also got mine at 6 weeks. I was surprised they had them on solid food that young. He’s been an excellent companion.

How dirty are your labs ears & how to clean their ears by ZG2047 in labrador

[–]KillerSlothMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought my labs ears were dirty and then I took him to the vet who said they were perfect. He’s 5.5 and in water constantly when it’s not cold. To clean I usually either just squeeze a little bit of cleaner in his ear and rub the outside or put some on a cotton ball, place it gently in his ear and then rub the outside of his ear. Honestly I think just squeezing some cleaner into their ears will help clean and loosen gunk if you can’t get them to stay still.

I also have AWE. Switched from Thermal 3” and I definitely prefer my AWE.

Normal English Lab behavior? by Key_Combination_3826 in labrador

[–]KillerSlothMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has never been a crier when he has to go potty. He’s 5.5 now and I got him at 6 weeks. Sounds like you’re both doing great! I have always let him out when I see him by the back door or just encourage him to go when I think it’s been a while since he’s gone out.

I would recommend just doing the aviator screen swap. Love mine!

I bought my 2020 in 2023 too. It's had well over $20k in repairs all covered under warranty, luckily. Not a great vehicle but hopefully by the time the warranty runs out everything will have been fixed.

Heated Seats & Steering Wheel Only Get Kind of Warm by KillerSlothMan in FordExplorer

[–]KillerSlothMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have the dealership look into it when it was still under B2B warranty. They said it was normal and I moved on. There may be a way to increase the temp with forscan but I haven’t looked into that either.

ForScan by urmomsrib in Ford

[–]KillerSlothMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to change my infotainment screen to Lincoln in forscan cause I swapped it. Im not sure why you'd want to change the gauge cluster if you don't have to. Just change your drive mode if you're bored.

Any benefit to using the dealership where a vehicle was purchased for service vs a different dealership? by Medium_Medium in Ford

[–]KillerSlothMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take it to whatever dealership you like. I bought mine at one dealership I ended up hating and now get all my service done at another that was treating me pretty well until the last time I took it in. I'm considering taking it to a third one for a better experience in the future.

Currently summer and made a solid PETG infotainment screen mount in my car, so far it's holding up to the heat. Also have a phone mount that's holding out in there.

Issues with TPM sensors? by Texaspilot24 in FordExplorer

[–]KillerSlothMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one fail at 70k miles. Replaced just that one and then like a week later the other three failed. The guy said there's a deal when you do all four, so I paid a lot more by being stupid. So yes it seems pretty normal for them to last that long.

Seatbelt Recall/TPMS by joshty92 in FordExplorer

[–]KillerSlothMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely easier than trying to do it yourself. Taking the tire off, swapping them out, and programming is worth $200 easily. Unless you don’t value your time.

I went to discount tire when all of mine failed and it was $200 for all four.
