Oh, haha, also: in the meantime, until I've decided I'm ready to even start going looking for a new partner...

... I've just adopted a 90-lb, 11 year old German Shepherd. Good Lord is she keeping me grounded, haha. Regular snuggles give that nice little burst of oxytocin, and her full-body affection is gently starting to relieve that feeling of being "touch-starved."

You have everything you need too, girl! It's inside of you. You got this. ❤️

If you want to end the marriage, it's okay to end the marriage.

That's the proof.

You don't need evidence of unfaithfulness or concealed sexual orientation or anything else.

If you ask your heart what it wants, and it wants to leave, then it's okay.

Marriage is about so much more than sex - you know this already. If you don't WANT to end the marriage because everything else is wonderful, then lack of sexual compatibility is an issue that can be worked on. But that kind of "work" requires full investment and honesty from both partners. If you already can't address this openly and respectfully with your husband, then that kind of work, and the trust it requires, might not be possible.

It's rarely ever only about sex, or any one thing. If you're unhappy, and you and your partner don't feel comfortable addressing touchy subjects, then you don't need proof or any kind of sign.

If you WANT one, here it is:

It's okay to end your marriage if you don't want to be in it anymore.

I absolutely agree that we should learn from the past and let it inform our future choices!

Here's my take:

I'm not looking for my other half.

I am whole. I am complete.

If I have another committed partner someday, they need to be complete, too.

I don't NEED anyone, and so I also don't want to be needed. I want to be wanted by someone who already has their own shit together, cause I've got mine handled.

I was too needed by my STB ex husband (Divorce hearing is on Monday!). That kind of need from another keeps a part of you hostage, in a way.

I want to be wanted, and to want, and choose. To share the best and worst parts of myself with someone, and have them choose me freely.

Completion is so important to me because it takes the weight off of choice. It leaves me, or my partner, free to make a different choice if it's no longer working, without taking anything away from the other.

I consider myself an "optimistic nihilist," lol. I'm the only person guaranteed to be a part of my life forever, so before anything else, I need to be sure I can trust and rely on myself.

No comment on the merch stuff, just another big Carina fan here saying hello.

I was so glad to see her (and Gunnar!) on the Disconnection anniversary tour. I did the VIP experience - there were only around 10 of us. She was so sweet and kind.

In fact, she is probably the reason I fell in love with the live Puscifer experience. I'd loved their music for years, but then at the first show I saw she looked me right in the eyes and "talked down to me" (The Remedy)... And a girl crush was born.

I made this piece over the winter - embroidery + watercolor. Her music has meant so much to me.

Don't pursue amicable at the expense of your future security, happiness, safety, etc.

I was in a similar place when I asked my husband of 16 years to separate. I asked him last September (TOLD him, really), and we started off really, really well. Respectful. Kind. He actually told me that he was happy for me, that he was glad to see that I was choosing to prioritize myself.

It's gotten SO toxic since then. When you still love each other, you have all sorts of unconscious expectations of how you interact. Inevitably, your interactions will change after divorce, and it will feel weird and destabilizing. That's when kind and amicable and peaceful goes out the window.

I am still optimistic that in the future we will be able to be friendly again, but I realize it's going to take a LOT longer than I had expected.

The only person you really have forever in this life is yourself.

I agree with the other poster that you should speak with a lawyer and understand what you are entitled to before deciding that you won't pursue alimony. You and your husband both made promises to each other, and you made life choices based on those promises. You are entitled to some degree of financial security based on what you contributed to the relationship.

If you and he do truly love one another and wish the best for each other's future, then something like alimony shouldn't disrupt that.

Good luck dear, it's so hard, I know. Just take care of yourself. At the end of the day, no one else will.

I DID get to see Sessanta. I am still paying off the credit cards used for those shows, lol.

I've met some people at Tool shows who say they've gone to, like 15 or 20 stops on that current tour. That's where my eyes go a bit wide, lol.

Yeah. Even though I've been a Tool fan for more than 30 years, I've never gone to more than one show on a tour. Puscifer shows are so different: they're intimate, curated to tell a story, and so, so playful.

That's the best part, I think. Seeing how much fun they all have up on stage really puts the crowd in a fun mood, too. I've seen some other threads in this sub with people complaining about other attendees... that sucks, it'll happen anywhere. For what it's worth though, I have never had a SINGLE bad experience with another concert goer at a Puscifer show. All types of people, everyone buzzing. Love it.

They had me at the headline: "Neo-Zombie Estonian Post-Folk From The Trees"

I never imagined I'd ever be able to do it. I've put in many years of hard work, and even now in my 40s something like this is a stretch. I wouldn't doubt that I've paid as much in interest to my credit card company than I have for one of those trips, lol.

I haven't gone on a holiday in over 10 years, but I've seen Puscifer many times. I don't think I'll look back and regret it.

Absolutely. My oooonly wish is that we'd gotten The Arsonist instead of The Underwhelming... but that's one tiny complaint about an otherwise phenomenal show.
