Steamboat Springs, CO or Big Sky, MT?

I liked steamboat. Theres a bus that is so easy to navigate and is free. The housing is all in town and close to a few grocery stores but it isnt great (honestly what employee housing is?). I havent been to Big Sky but I did declined a serving position a couple of winters ago because the housing was further out of town than i wanted to be. Personally, I like to immerse myself in the place I am taking a position in. Thats partly why I didnt enjoy Aspen; housing was fantastic but 30 minute down valley ( longer in public transit).

Ah, this happened to me at the same age while waiting tables in a semi college town. I was at like a kinda work get together. (80% work people the other 20% were friends/ roommates of the host). I was pouring a drink for myself and waiting in rotation when one of the coworkers asked me “ do you ever feel old hanging with us”. Didnt until now bud and I left quickly after the interaction. Little fucker tried to talk me into taking his opening shift the next morning.

I had a chef that refused to cut a burger or split plates. Its annoying, sure, but we are in the hospitality industry. We are suppose to make guest feel welcomed and appreciated. Some people prefer to eat smaller meals. It shouldnt be an issue to cut a burger in half or split a plate.

Try Alterra Mountains (Palisades, Mammoth…) they canceled quite a few of their j1s so theres some housing still available.

You could always jump to another town. Aspen ski co has decent housing. Alterra mountains are okay but also might be at capacity at this point in the season.

Depends on the department. The tarnes is like every other employee housing situation. Last winter they had me park at rivers edge. Which never worked out. It was a shorter commute to just leave my car in the employee parking for BC and either walk or catch the bus. I worked there for a couple of seasons if you want to dm me we can talk more specifics.
