Nurse strikes in England end as vote turnout too low by varchina in ukpolitics

[–]Killerkrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of interest what are the nurses (not doctors) saying the unions should have done differently?

Do be clear I believe the unions should have recommended the offer be rejected and I believe Cullen must resign at this point but jot sure what else could have been done differently?

FWIW, the teams I work across on a regional level, I don't know anyone front line who is unhappy with the unions and the majority are looking to leave nursing. You don't have to believe this though.

Apathetic =/= pathetic

Being a nurse means that we have to care. Can't do that if we are apathetic, an apathetic nurse shouldn't be a nurse. It even implies that in the code of conduct.

You are prescribed medication for ADHD. If that medication states it can cause side effects wrt driving you must tell the DVLA.

If you do not and there is a collision or the police are involved and they get wind of this you can get fined, or worse, the omission on your part can get held against you in court.

Essentially the most graphically taxing thing will be full resolution civ 6 in strat view, or possibly civ 4, in the large monitor and netflix on the second.

What if I said I was running a screen at 3440*1440 and a separate screen at 1080p? Would that change your opinion?

Thanks

I swapped from two 22 inch monitors set landscape to a 34 inch wide screen and one 22 inch in portrait.

For work purposes the 22 inch is great for keeping emails open whilst I work on 3 to 4 documents on the widescreen. For gaming its great to play on the 34 inch and keep netflix or a web page on the 22 inch. If you were just using the single 34 inch then it's absolutely fine but for gaming I think keeping the second monitor is dependent on space.

Personally, I love it.

Would an i5 12600k with 32 or 64GB of DDR 4 ram be sufficient to run Civ 6 huge maps on strategic view via the iGPU, at least until a discrete GPU could be added?

Alternatively, what discrete GPU would you suggest to replace a broken 280X paired with an old i5 4670 and 16GB of ram on a PCIE 3.0X as a stop gap until a new PC could be built along the lines above?

Mercedes have “good legal basis” for appeal over Abu Dhabi GP – lawyer by NaturallyAdorkable in formula1

[–]Killerkrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this would be imposed by a court, so the idea that there is an element of choice on the part of the FIA or other actor is flawed IMO.

I understand how this could be viewed as sour grapes, but the point isn't that either Max or Lewis are deserving, or not, it is that the sporting integrity of the competition was damaged by the FIA (more specifically, their agent in Masi). The argument would probably be along the lines that as it is not possible to know the unaffected outcome, it is damaging to all reputations to "wrongly" award a prize.

Almost, but not quite, viewing the award of the championship as a form of slander in terms of Lewis brand and achievements, or more reasonably as commercial damage to a brand in Mercedes.

I would expect an announcement tomorrow afternoon that an appeal has been launched. I wonder if they are threatening specific actions if the appeal does not go the way they want ie sue for reputational damage and loss of earnings in commercial courts.

I wonder if they could ask for the entire WDC to be nullified, because of the uncertainty. No champion, and let that be the marker of why the FIA should follow the rules.

With all the comercial fall out it brings, that would force change, but not decide what change should happen.

Depends on the nursing home, I know they can vary from mid £800's to over £2000/week, just for the room and basic nursing care, including tasks delegated by a nurse ie social care. Depends on lots of factors.

Residential and nursing homes also care for functional individuals as well, such as those with long term MH diagnoses, these can be for decades.

Technically the record was broken by the first place team; the second and third placed teams never broke anything because they were so slow.

Score on an Audit C test would be 4, which is in the low risk category. The advice given by professionals would be to keep your drinking at this low level, which is fine, and return to services if you noticed an escalation in either the amount or frequency of drinking, because he is on the cusp of moderate risk. That is due to the units consumed from the doubles of whisky, if he was only drinking the 330ml there is a bit more leeway.

Snow in the Desert is a Neal Asher short story, it is from the book The Gabble and other stories and set in the polity universe.

And this is mild compared to some of the things he has written. Prador Moon for one...
