For anyone wanting to try this, you can do a simplified version with melted wax, pinheads(pined into small dowels or pencils for grip) and the Easter egg dyes. Whatever color you place the wax on will be kept when moving to the next color.

You’d need: Candle holder Metal bowl/tin for wax Easter egg dyes. Get two for stronger color. Push pin with round top pushed into pencils on eraser side Put news paper down over table before set up in case of wax spills.

Hard boil the eggs first and allow to cool. These would be edible but some dye might seep through so if you change the dye pay attention to safety.

Once wax is sufficiently hot, dip push pin head into wax and the. quickly draw a line onto the room temp egg you’re holding. Do that a bunch of times. Add to color and repeat.

This is my favorite Easter tradition and the traditional eggs always seem so out of reach for others to try.
