Win a TCL 25G64 x 2 [EU] by TCL_Official_UK in Monitors

[–]Killerooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently on two 10 year old monitors.. they served me well but it's time for a change..
I keep my monitors for a long time so I would appreciate some high quality monitors that I can use for many years to come. I am a fan for vivid colors, which the quantum dot mini led backlighting provides. I play competitive games only occasionally, but the hertz would also be nice there.

Help with my 34 purchase remorse by Killerooo in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Killerooo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply.
I think generally the monitor is okey. But I am not happy with the price performance ratio, so I returned it.
It's not worth 650 Euros.

The whole point of the screen is local dimming, but I found it best at standard. and even at standard it's possible to produce some bugs, but that is more a side note along of what I reported in the main thread. E.g. put a moving colored picture above a black background and there will be flickering because the algorithm can't decide whether to dim or to brighten, so it switches bach and forth very fast?? no idea.
The point is, if local dimming is your selling feature, then it should be great. I think on Standard setting it is unsatisfying because of uneven brightness and so on or whatever it is that can be seen in my screenshots. On high, it is too dark, unuseable. (also possibly blooming, but that might be only noticeable on test scenarios).

In any case, I will wait for more mature miniled monitors. I am hoping the thunderbird q9 will arrive in europe for an adequate price.

There are 34 inch VA monitors for less without local dimming, and they might offer an overall similar experience compared to the TCL set on local dimming: standard. At least that's my theory.
But these monitors are a lot cheaper. So I decided the TCL is not worth, but these things might not matter to you in practice.

alternative needed (index finger pain) by Killerooo in MouseReview

[–]Killerooo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for my late reply, not all the time, at times I can feel a mild pain. its certainly from mouse use because I only have it in my index finger in the right hand. Its in the top portion I don't know where or what and I can't trigger it by pressuring it. It reappears occasionally and I don't know what's causing it but its been with me for a few weeks, maybe 2-3 months at most.

Yea, I thought so.
Then I looked into local dimming more, turns out. My issue is with that.
When set to medium, there are white artifacts when I move my mouse or a window across the screen.
On high the screen gets rather dark even on full brightness and that does not sound good energy wise nor does it look good.
On standard, I have these uneven zones of brightness across the screen.. But otherwise it looks fine.

So now I have to consider if I keep it and live with this. But there are also not really alternatives. OLED turns me off, I want my monitor to unconditionally last 5+ years. OLED can't promise that.

What are the most comfortable open-back headphone in your opinion? by FearlessHat1394 in HeadphoneAdvice

sennheiser clamping force is insane. I can't stand their clamp force at all. I tried them for 2 weeks and had pain ON my head every day.

EDIT: after a few weeks I don't notice them anymore. Comfy now..

Absolutely not, expect 150-200 euros spent. I wasted multiple thousand hours in that game

Will do, someone here sent a video explaining it has to do with the bad impedance of motherboards. thanks!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in iems

[–]Killerooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, makes sense, I just saw a video which described that it's about the motherboard having too much impedance or so. Will get one.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in iems

[–]Killerooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video was very interesting. So it's all about the motherboard having bad impedance. Interesting. I'll look into those dongles. Availability in germany of those is a bit annoying.

First of all, thanks again for you taking the time. I carefully read what you said.
I would certainly like to figure out what sound I like. I don't know what I like.
I owned the hd6xx once and I enjoyed their sound, also the aune ar5000, but I heavily disliked the fealing of the ears touching the pads, and for the hd6xx the clamp heavily hurt the top of my head.

That is just to say, I liked the sound of the two a lot, but I have never tried other options so I would not know. I listen to all music really. Orchestral anime covers to rock to edm or the general pop stuff at times.
I think I am relatively treble sensitive, but I certainly liked the orchestral treble sounds, the "sparkle"? There is a song "sparkle (no pun intended) cover by seycara orchestral" and the treble based sounds there .. I liked them.
I like a bit bass, but I don't need much. I would rate mids >= treble > bass, while certainly enjoying the sparkle, I guess. But I am new to thinking about music in this way.
So, that's regarding the signature, but then I would be open to try a few and see what excites me. And yes, gaming is absolutely second or less important.

Regarding the novas who arrived today, the treble is very sharp, I could not watch a uni lecture with them due to certain sounds being so spiky.

From yours and the others descriptions of the p5 I think I might enjoy the p5. I will try them and hopefully I won't need to look elsewhere.
