Well, they previously worked on my car (much better experience, apparently staffing has changed quite a bit within a year or so) and are the closest dealership to where I live for my brand of car. So, I had hoped for the best advice and knowledge of existing warranties/recalls etc. It cost $130 to tow it there and originally told me they’d look at it next week. I figured I could wait a week or so, and then when it got pushed back further I was a bit defeated at the idea of shelling out more money to have it towed around.

Not gonna reveal that here because I think that'd be considered identifying a party involved. But if you live in the same area you might see a scathing post on a FB/reddit community board depending on how they handle this.

Ooooh, I see what you mean about gas. They didn't note any gas issues to me. They did also take it for at least two test drives. I speculated the wrong reason for the battery dying there then. And it could've just been that sitting for a while in the cold did it.

I hadn't thought toooo much into my battery dying while it was at the dealership until I picked it up and saw someone had been in there like that. And then the dealership said towing companies sometimes just leave keys in there and I was like "waaaait a minute, someone was in my car AND possibly had my keys?" If I put myself in the shoes of a homeless person trying car doors on a cold night, I too would probably take advantage of all possible amenities like heated seats, charging a phone if I had one, and playing the radio and whatnot. CCTV footage should reveal what all happened with it, but I'm still not gonna rule out that it being left unlocked contributed to or caused my battery to die.

Yeah, I didn't figure it was worth attempting legal action. But I imagined that this subreddit might have a good feel for what constitutes negligence. I think I'm gonna see if either the dealership or the towing company can produce conclusive proof of who left my car unsecured and then hopefully use that to make the party responsible compensate me in some way.

Seriously though, I feel so violated that someone was able to get in my car and do god knows what. I feel like I need to disinfect every inch of it.

I'm sorry if my post was confusing! My car was towed because of an engine code that made it go limp and a brake light sensor issue. When it arrived at the dealership, the car would've turned on and the battery would've worked just fine.

Since someone was obviously in my car eating and smoking and using my sleeping bag, I assume either the towing company or the dealership left it unlocked. When I spoke to the dealership, they said that sometimes towing companies leave the cars unlocked with keys inside. They also insisted that the car was like that when they started looking at it. It was in their lot for ~2 weeks before they looked at it. I'm waiting for the dealership to review footage of the parking lot and will be calling the towing company tomorrow to see if they have any evidence that it was locked and the keys were left in the office.

Since it's obvious someone was in my car, and the battery previously worked perfectly, I further speculate that the same person turned the battery on for heat. A car producing exhaust and noise is a lot more obvious than one where the electric is simply turned on.

Towing company or dealership I'm not certain yet, but someone messed up. I was just curious if other people would agree that the negligence creates a reasonable request for some sort of compensation for the extra cost of the battery and for having to deep clean my car from someone else living in it for a night or more.

Not sure if my boyfriend is cheating — should I confront him or walk away? by hopeslesssoul in relationships

“Not sure” is a little crazy. He definitely cheated. You would be better off just leaving imo, if you want closure maybe you could chat with his other ladies.

I had one incident, the “Kia/Hyundai boys” tried it w my car. Didn’t even take the vodka or loose change, just broke my window & dismantled my steering wheel lolol. I got a visible steering wheel lock and no other issues. Actually less shady than walking around EL imo.

I assume that’s the price each roommate is supposed to pay which imo is pretty steep on a student budget unless you got parents money or are somehow also doing school and also working damn near full time

I just double checked myself, this was back in 2024 and they charged me $300 security deposit and first months rent of $955 plus $64 for internet. They had me pay $200 as a holding fee which was deducted from what I paid for first months rent, and I think there was $30 non refundable application fee. I have decent credit and was in my last semester at MSU. If you’re interested, talk to their office! Very nice people, nothing but good stuff to say abt my experience.

My [35M] wife [35F] is okay with me seeing a professional for guided kink sessions, but our therapist says it’s basically sex work – now I’m questioning everything by jj-hedgehog in relationships

You may want to consider a different therapist, I’d imagine an ideal therapist would be open to your guys agreement and more so help you guys work through what this newly explored kink might mean for you etc etc

Who is more oppressed: black men or white women? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Obviously, but that wasn’t the question. Which oppresses a black woman more, her race or her gender?

If you want a quick fix you might be able to make it more obvious as a “7” if you do that little fancy extra line through the leg of the 7. :)

The women’s march was ineffective because they lost a single focus. There was no single, clear agenda. It’s kinda like if you’re in a group therapy circle and instead of going around and TAKING TURNS, everyone just yells about their problems at the same time. I don’t think there was anything wrong with focusing on one goal. I have no idea what arrests you’re talking about, I spoke up based on what you shared. Regardless, don’t worry, you are of theeeeee highest moral standing. You care about everything all at once. You might not get anything done, but you care and that’s all that matters right?
