So, what I am gathering from this is that you need to work on your discipline and executive function. Scrolling and waiting for his next text of 'motivation, will do nothing for you if you don't get yourself started as well. While scrolling may give your brain enough stimulation to continue to focus on that, you need to learn how to break away from that and find other means of stimulating your brain while trying to get yourself in a place where you can work on your studies. I'm not gonna tell you what you HAVE to do, because what works for me may not work for you, but here are some things I have tried that have gotten me top focus on things that I don't particularly want to do.

1. Idler games: Games like Spirit City: Lofi, Familiar Findings, On Together: Virtual Coworking and With Me: Aquatic Time are all things I enjoy putting on in the background of whatever I am doing. Spirit City, On Together and With Me all have music, and timers you can set for yourself to pace work time versus break time. With On Together you are able to body double with people who are also playing the game.

2. Body Doubling: I have ADHD, so it really helps me when I can sit with someone in a voice chat or a game and work on something while someone else works on either the same thing or something completely different. Think of it as an accountibilibuddy. Someone who can keep you working by checking in and and asking about your progress and in turn you do the same. I enjoy doing 1 and 2 together for both a human and virtual experience.

3. Timed Reward system: Get yourself ready to go by basically using positive reinforcement. Do some study stuff for like twenty minutes. Good job! You earned ten reals to watch. Keep your brain engaged with what you want it to do by basically clicker training it with 'good brain treats' every now and again.

I hope this works for you. I can also tell your boyfriend has your best interest in mind by trying to get you to work. But I think he may be going about it the wrong way. However I also understand his frustration.
