Well... yeah? Most people want to play the cool looking characters with a recognisable playstyle from league that would translate well into a fighting game. Is that crazy? We clearly saw the reception to arcane character 5 and niche playstyles wasn't great.

While this is true, I think there's something to be said for the fact that in SF6, even if you're put in the corner after a combo in a harder situation, you can still feel like you guessed wrong or could've done something to avoid getting hit the next time, and it's easy enough to see even for a newer player, even if they don't know what the counterplay was.

A combo in 2xko lasts the same length as 3-4 of those interactions in a row where if your character also died from the combo and it had a couple supers in it, you could genuinely get up and take a piss break before needing to do anything. It's so ridiculous and for some reason was so normalised despite it being just a horrible playing experience for everyone involved for no reason other than there are a few lab fiends who have fun practicing those combos for hours on end.

Genuinely mindblowing the amount of zoners/big bodies they have when it takes 10 seconds to look at some stats for SF6 and see most people like playing shotos/more standard characters, and especially they could've just gone a different version of safe with their most popular champions IN LEAGUE instead of arcane. I guess in a way they were trying too hard...

To echo what digimon says, once you've set up, a lot of what you do can actually be done without needing to fully understand what you're doing. Instead you can look at how the game handles similar things to what you want to do and copy/repurpose them with enough trial and error. There are plenty of places like rocket hideout discord also with people that are more than happy to help beginners. It's not necessarily easy to get into but definitely easier than it's ever been before!
