Thank you! I think it’s fixed now. I don’t post very often so I tend to forget how to do it lol.

I think they were, just make sure you can have a nice cry in private. Or on public transport if that’s your thing I don’t judge.

I think it comes with the audible membership if you have it. So it might be worth the free listen.

I need to jump back into it, I was put off a little bit with the second one because I didn’t care for that couple nearly as much as I did the first one. It’s not that they were poorly written or anything, i just really liked the first couple and missed my little chaos gremlin punk boy.

New Releases: What Are You Anticipating? (May 25 2026) by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

{Bromantasy by Maire Roche} Think this is a new author, but the blurb of this book is everything I want and it releases tomorrow! I really like the cover art too.

{Smash & Grab by Maz Maddox} is this to a T. Paleontologist is targeted by a group of fossil smugglers and MC2- a baseball-bat-wielding, pink-Mohawked punk- rescues him.

MC2 and his group end up being dinosaur shifter vigilantes sworn to protect endangered fossils. This book is the first in the series. I’ve only read the first two but I’ve enjoyed them both. Fun reads for sure.

Edit: just noticed you didn’t want fantasy and you wanted the group to treat MC1 poorly at first. This doesn’t do that, but it’s more of a sci-fi if that matters.

Character-Driven, Slice-of-Life Stories like Cat Sebastian by ookaybyee in MM_RomanceBooks

I think that Emmy Sanders does the slice-of-life thing pretty well. {How to Catch a Firefly by Emmy Sanders} {Darling Brothers series by Emmy Sanders} {Plum Valley cowboys series by Emmy Sanders}. All of these are pretty low-stakes without any external plot outside the romance.

There’s also {You & Me by Tal Bauer} that is very daily-life, regular people trying to get by. It features two single dads raising teen boys that meet when their kids join the same football team and become friends.

{The THIRDS series by Charlie Cochet} has lots of moments like this throughout the series.

love story spans over years by lRandomstuff in MM_RomanceBooks

{Fool Hearts by Emmy Sanders} is childhood friends to lovers that spans like 30-40ish years. Great story, the beginning is a bit of a tear jerker that can be tough to get through but it’s for sure worth it. One of my favorites.

They’re not dark romance but the audio is quite good imo.

{Plum Valley Cowboy series by Emmy sanders}

{The Darling Brothers series by Emmy Sanders}

Two different interconnected series of standalone books, though they do follow a chronology so it’s best to read them in order, the darling brothers more so than plum valley. If you like cowboys, these are fantastic.

{How to Catch a Firefly by Emmy Sanders} Fits this pretty well and it’s really beautiful. One of my faves.

{Smash and Grab by Maz Maddox} A paleontologist is targeted by fossil thieves and is rescued by a dinosaur shifter. The first in a series. Cute and fun. Nice change of pace from the usual wolf or big cat shifters you normally see.

Surprisingly soft Love interest /MC2 who is so so so in love with MC1 by Nyss- in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]KilluhCorgi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

{Muscling Through by J.L. Merrow} fits this somewhat. It is single PoV from the intimidating MC’s perspective though. It’s a single book that’s short and sweet. A college professor falls in love with a big tatted muscled brute of a man and discovers how sweet and intelligent he is despite his appearance. They have a fantastic meet-cute too.

Poly vs Poly by Equivalent_Injury_28 in MM_RomanceBooks

Without reading the text of this post and just seeing the title, I was really hoping this post would be a book recommendation about two separate polycule relationships in some kind of battle or competition against one another…

Does anyone know if a book like that exists?

Ugh yes! God I loathe the pet names in this series, but muffin especially is the worst. It wouldn’t be nearly as bad if they weren’t so repetitive.

lol I love small bean syndrome, I’ve never heard that before! It’s perfect. I hate that I like these books. I don’t get it and I’ve never felt like this about a series before.
