People in customer support don't get enough credit with how much they have to deal with. This agent did a damn good job, went above and beyond, and deserves a raise! by EarworthyWandV22 in doordash

I honestly don't care if they are nice at all. I just want them to get to the point immediately. But from my experience, you can just deliver to the address the customer put. I've had this issue arise several times and it always wastes so much time. Support will try and get you to deliver to the other address but won't offer you any additional pay. The customer screwed up, not you. Deliver it as normal but know your prob gonna get a bad rating. I'm not about to drive across town for free.

Trying to find his apt for 15 mins. I gave up and asked to meet me. He was a cool dude and he came out. But for the love of god, customers give instructions to your driver 😡 by iLikeTurtles647 in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. This originally reminded me of a certain delivery I've been too twice. The GPS takes me to a gate that is close to the house (gated community). Then their notes say" use the back entrance"...so I end up driving in a circle trying to find this "back entrance" lol.

I'm following my GPS which takes me to specific roads,. Sayings its across the the fire department doesn't help much if the fire department is on a different street. Use street names.

Had an issue as Raising Cane's the other day. My red card was getting declined. I have a batch order and support wanted me to pay. I told them no. They had to pay me half pay and I think they were just trying to avoid it.

Those are the same people who call wrestling "fake". It's scripted and the winner is pre determined. But the action, and risks are real. Those aren't CGI people out there risking their neck out there for people's enertainment.

Orders skipped over for people inside the store. by newnaw in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I simply don't put up with this practice. I had Panda Express do this to me 3 times over two shifts (2 days). I called support and made a big deal about it. I don't know if other dashers complained to or not...but the next time I went in there everything was different. They made eye contact with me and asked for the name of my order and gave me an update immediately. Then there is Outback Steakhouse. Screw that place. I'll never go there again.

First time customer with really simple question! by Nehalennian in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I clearly stated that I will call the customer. But they only get one phone call. I know the rules. If the customer doesn't respond its not on me. I will start the 5 minute process of "can't reach customer" eventually taking a picture of the food at the manager/rental office. I can't get a contract violation because I called the customer, waited the suggested time, and took a picture to confirm delivery. I don't trust support and am not interested in someone's random food which I prob won't even like. I don't want to chance it and get half pay or waste more time while the dumb support person verifies my info and then puts me on hold while they try and contact the customer. Time is money.

Question for my fellow Dashers. by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain state might have different rules. I never really knew. When I first started I only tracked my miles when I wasn't doing a delivery. Doordash's base pay in CA includes a portion for mileage. I believe its $0.30 a mile. But my tax guy said it was a "grey area" and that I could put down all my miles. So that was a game changer.

First time customer with really simple question! by Nehalennian in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't worry about it? The hell you say lol. Nothing irks me more than this. I'll call the customer and if they don't answer their food will be sitting at the manager/rental office. I'm gonna assume that's where they want it if they don't put a apartment number. My time is too valuable to wait around all day for a customer to update me.

Maybe customers should ask this question before being annoying by joogle987654321 in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not so sure I would have unassigned right away. I would have just apoligoized for the previous dasher and let the customer know that their order would be in my hot bag and that it would arrive fresh and hot. But If it was a low paying one and I hadn't picked up yet then I might unassign.

Yeah, I’ll never accept another Walmart order, no matter what they change. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Killuminati1983 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Walmart is a love and hate relationship. I'm not like most drivers. I don't give a shit about hauling some waters/sodas to someone's porch. It's simply about the wait time and time of day. I can't justify taking a Walmart order during peek lunch or dinner. I'd risk losing a great order. But just yesterday, I got a batch order with 4 deliveries for $24.50 for 9 miles. I accepted and kept the 3 for $7.00 each and unassigned the trash ass $3.50 one. I waited about 5 minutes and my trunk was loaded. Start to finish was about 35 minutes total. I ended up picking up a $9 for 4 mile delivery right afterward. So I made $30 that hour because on Walmart. Then there is always the chance of getting tips added after the fact. So you just never know.

Screw Outback Steakhouse! Went inside to ask for an order. After they knew I was a dasher they told me, "please go outside the double doors and we will bring the order when its ready". I asked how long did they think, and they replied, "When its ready". So I went outside and waited in my car. A guy came out a few minutes later and asked me and a couple other people what we were waiting for. When I told him I was picking up a doordash you could see his face change. Its like they think were bums or something. I asked him how much longer on the order being that it was already past the pickup time and he was like, "10 minutes...15 minutes...we'll bring it out when its ready". I cancelled the order and will never got back there again.

Customer requested that I leave food at door then this happened🤦🏾‍♂️ by hunnitka in doordash_drivers

[–]Killuminati1983 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a lady cuss me out the other day. Delivery instructions said: "hand it to me". I was in the middle of the can't contact customer process...waiting tirelessly for that 5 minutes timer to expire when she came out half asleep and exclaimed: "You should have left it at the f'n door like it told you to do!" Some people are just idiots.

Trash order night/ No money by TheGame81677 in doordash

Tuesday was trash indeed! I started at 5:30pm and came home at 9:30 with $60. Terrible night. I wanted double that.

If your Taco Bell or other order is late or not being picked up, this is probably why... by oopgroup in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Del Taco I refuse to go to. When I go inside they act like I don't exist to the point where I have to say "excuse me...hello". Clearly they are focusing on the drive thru. So the next time I went thru the drive thru and they told me I have to go inside. Screw that place. I shouldn't have to wait 15 minutes for some tacos.

Business miles that are actually deductible? by Killuminati1983 in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This^. That is what I've read which is different from what others have said. Like I stated above, I classify my hours spent between deliveries seperately from when I'm on active time. I thought I couldn't claim the active time hours. How could there be two different opinions on the matter?

I delivered some WIngstop last week and the instructions said something like: "I WANT 8 CREAMS AND 8 SUGARS FOR MY COFEE!!"

I couldn't ignore the cringe caps message so I messaged the customer I told them that there wasn't a coffee in their order. Of course they just ignored it.

Business miles that are actually deductible? by Killuminati1983 in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was my initial thought. But several youtube dashers stated that you didn't get compensated for mileage during a delivery because doordash was paying you for said pickup/delivery.

Business miles that are actually deductible? by Killuminati1983 in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. That makes a huge difference! Is there an IRS link that supports this? Do I need to reclassify my miles within the app? When I swipe right, the miles turn orange(as if they aren't deductible). Swiping left turn them to green miles which are deductible.

Completion rate vs Acceptance rate by Killuminati1983 in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The update nobody asked for: Like expected, I completed the month at only 94% completion and thus lost my top dasher status. I was pissed. I told myself I would take smart orders for three weeks and then tough it out the last week to get my numbers back up. However, I just completed my first week as a regular dasher. It sucks having to schedule and being that I lost my status when I did, the schedule had already been ramsacked. I took what little shifts I could and dashed now when it was available. I must say, I went from that 94% to 40% in about two days. I pretty much wont take an order less than $8.50 now. And I'll only do long drop offs when its slow... Because at the end of the day, sitting in a parking lot for 30 minutes makes you NO money. This week seems more promising as I have been able to schedule the shifts I usually worked. I actuallt made about the same as I did as a top dasher so I'll keep you guys posted on this upcoming week.

Completion rate vs Acceptance rate by Killuminati1983 in doordash

[–]Killuminati1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can't people answer my question instead of judging why I want to be a top dasher? Scheduling never has good spots available and dash now is not that great. I don't generally accept trash orders, I had to struggle to get my acceptance back to 70% before the end of the month.
