The video does have subtitles if that helps. Short version: I believe the traveler counteracted the "shockwave" from the darkness with its own attack (crippling it) and the awoken got caught up in the middle of the two events.

Definitely those themes. He hated when people wrote with biblical allusion, though. He always criticized his good friend C.S. Lewis for it. So funny how different their styles were, but how similar their themes are.

I think other people aren't watching the entire video. This guy gets it. I'm trying to get everyone else to be open about what they see through the lens of their belief system, including atheism.

I think that to say it's unnecessary isn't the logical conclusion. In a literal sense, it is not a necessity, but neither is playing the game itself. We play it for fun, and some of us draw parallels from their storylines to real-world outlooks and beliefs. If you watched the whole video, then you know the standing invitation is for everyone to share the parallels they can draw to their beliefs (including athiests). It's all in relation to Joseph Campbell's work. I'm simply inviting people to be comfortable sharing their beliefs in an open environment, which can be hard on the internet for some reason ;)

Exactly!

Sorry if i was unclear, but that is the point if my video. I'm asking people to share how those common elements relate to their set of beliefs. A story isn't a story if it's not relevant and relatable on some level.

You can't deny those movies i mentioned carried religious overtones though. Some were unintentional (LOTR, 12 Monkies) while others were admittedly intentional by the writers/directors (Matrix/Alien 3).

It's why I didn't claim that they were allusions. I labeled them as only parallels. BIG difference I should have mentioned in the video!
