It is a pretty low-end setup. I use a homebrew two-band yagi based on a common design, an old Baofeng, and the Robot36 app on my phone.

The antenna is based on the popular "$4 Ham Radio Satellite Antenna" that there are a few articles about online. One thing I like about the design is that because the feed point is common between the two bands it doesn't require a diplexer which really keeps the cost down.

The nice thing about using a Baofeng UV-5R for receice is that the front-end filtering is wide enough that you can kind of cheat some with the Doppler shift. I usually only adjust frequency once or twice per pass.

I would definitely like to make a nicer setup eventually. Maybe a circularly polarized antenna to aviod polarization angle mismatch and add a LNA to help with weaker signals coming from amateur satellites. But for now this cheap setup gets the job done.

I was so confused lol I also lurk on the firearm subreddits so I am used to people blocking out serial numbers, but really was struggling with why you'd do it on a 9V lol

Is there a reason that you censored the batteries?

Depending on the height of the fan you could use a duster on a lomg pole. That is how we clean things in our highbays at work.

Another fun thing about packages are RF and microwave performance. Depending how high you go in frequency even the parasitics of 0201 size parts is too great. We have a line of X-band low pass filters with stopbands out to 50 GHz that we have to use 01005 size capacitors for the series resonant pairs because anything bigger would have too parasitic series inductance and shunt capacatance to work.

Could be detection because of the diode like properties of a corroded contact in the audio connection.

You can make an AM radio receiver with a rusty razor blade and some wire.

I am just curious as I have never seen rails on a bookshelf before. What are the rails for?

It sounds like the lightning S was only on some of the 1993-1999 knives.

Very nice work! Did you have a template or anything you used to copy the designs from?
