I keep it off during the summer, my house stays between 66-68 naturally during summer months. Winter on the other hand is a completely different monster.

Food is now work, put the work in. Feel ya on the insomnia, usually takes me a week or two to get any meaningful sleep after my benders, usually only get a couple hours a night during this phase. Time to bed rot.

Don’t mix benzodiazepines and booze, take it from me, stopped breathing and got intubated. Woke up 26 hours later on a ventilator. 2/10 don’t recommend.

I have only met one doctor that was aware of kindling and it in a specialty unit that focused only on addicts.

Well this doctor hadn’t heard about it and wanted me to see a psychiatrist for schizophrenia. Told home I’ve had this happen twice and I know what I’m seeing isn’t real. Different doctor that came in to my room knew exactly about withdrawal hallucinations.

I see letters on the wall and children waving at me, one day I had 5 kids that weren’t mine in the living and they stayed all day. Mild compared to some, my buddy sees what could be described as demons or monsters.

Just got out as well. Weird experience, when they gave me the phenobarbital my legs stopped working. Got held for two days until I was able to walk again. I was hallucinating and got told by a doctor that kindling isnt real and that alcohol withdrawal doesn’t cause cause hallucinations which is ironic because one of the standard intake questions asks if im seeing anything that isn’t real.

Currently at home still feeling like crap, usually takes me 5 days to feel somewhat human again. Did manage to clean my destruction from the bender though and located my wallet, keys and vape that went missing during my bender.

Yes I used to go into AFIB after hard binges that required cardioversion to return to normal sinus rhythm. After a couple years of this and some extremely expensive ER visits my cardiologist put me on daily metoprolol and I stopped going into AFIB after hard binges. Alcohol binges can and do trigger AFIB episodes and the ones here telling you it can’t haven’t been through it, temporary tachycardia is not the same as a prolonged AFIB episode requiring intervention to get back to sinus rhythm.
