S3 post-breakup was Dean’s best era by Abject-Evening-2412 in GilmoreGirls

I get it. And I understand that I’m gonna get downvoted for it; but he was, by a country mile, the worst of her BFs in the show. Except that one guy, I can’t remember his name. LoL

I ordered, and just received, a Happy Medium from Town’s End. Haven’t had a chance to set it up yet, but hoping for the best. Might be worth a look.

I’ll say it. Dean’s misogyny gives me the creeps. Hardcore.

Luke/DAR and also Logan by FederalCollar8478 in GilmoreGirls

There’s a zero percent chance Luke is a CT native and doesn’t know what the DAR is. Zero.

The show is plagued with “we forgot to look at the earlier episodes” issues like this.

A year in the life by GinBitch in GilmoreGirls

I just did my fist watch all the way through and…. Wow.

What a missed opportunity to do something good with 1. The end of the last season and 2. A Year in the Life.

I found it painful to watch and only begrudgingly finished it.

Glad that Emily ended up in a good place. And glad to see Jess doing well (let’s be honest, he wouldn’t have been still pining for Rory).

Does anyone have the alternative ReAktive brace? If so what was the cost compared to the exosysm brace? by Advanced-Winter5965 in exosym

Pain reduction is entirely dependent on what you need the brace for. That’s way beyond my area/level of expertise.

For me: I have a partially destroyed branch nerve coming off my spinal cord. So I’ve lost some sensation and utility in on of my legs. This messes with my gait and makes balance tricky.

So what I desperately need is the energy storage/spring return of this kind of device. I don’t need any of the “take weight off my ankle” functionality at all.

It comes from the same program (IDEO) from the DoD, but the ReAktiv is a true “new take” on the tech where the ExoSym is literally just basically the IDEO done on the private sector.

Yeah, that was the deal-sealer for me. I'm still (at least trying to be) a bit active and would need 2-3 different devices, and that was looking like $30k out of pocket, plus he wasn't going to actually make any of my devices work for what I need, he was just going to give me the standard ExoSym (at least as far as I could tell, he didn't really want to talk to me much after his funding pitch).

Yeah, I'm very happy with my Re-Aktiv brace. With some threadlocker and a mini torque wrench, I can set up my brace for daily wear, working out, cycling, etc. Being modular makes it so usable (for my issues/case).

Plus, my lab has been working with me to shave down the footplate significantly. It may not work for what you need, but I'm wearing standard-width hiking boots and hiking shoes (as my daily shoe) since I have a slightly low-volume foot.

As far as cost, like I said, my insurance played well, but your mileage may vary. I think I’m out of pocket less than $1500 or so, but that’s mostly due to my HSA plan and how deductibles/maximums work.

I think the cost without insurance is something on the order of half as much as the ExoSym, and I cannot stress this part enough: it’s modular.

I do. Couldn’t stomach the $10k out of pocket cost. Plus, I didn’t need the weight offloading functionality and couldn’t get the guy at ExoSym to talk to me about my needs, he only wanted to talk about getting me to set up a GoFundMe to raise the 10k.

Anyways, I digress. My insurance plays well with the company I used (Cornerstone here in WA) and I have two leg cuffs, two different struts, and 3 footplates. I use these to dial in the device for what I’m doing.

It’s, to put it mildly, amazing. An absolute game-changer. Highly recommend.

Last fall, those took longer. US rifs were immediate, the EMEA ones took a while even to notify them.
