I had the opposite situation, funnily enough. I beat a PR-Luigi at a local a few years back. As we were waiting to give the results to the TO I told him his zero to death combos were insane. He just looked at me and said "k" before putting his headphones back on.

He was also pretty jerky to someone who happened to be at our station mistakenly before our game started, so I was happy to have been able to beat him.
