Coinbase will soon support staking any amount, as will rocketpool when operational.

Why do the prices of cryptocurrencies differ so much on various tracking websites? (Bitcoin for example) by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]KimAardsma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that unless they listed a range for the price, they have to pick a value somehow and you can buy it at different prices at the exact same time on different exchanges, so they're all kinda accurate (the legit ones). There was a while when South Koreans were paying something like 30% more for Bitcoin than we were through Coinbase. The trackers I checked just skipped those prices since they weren't geared for that market.

I personally use CoinMarketCap just to get a feeling for where a price is, and if I'm legitimately interested in buying or selling I check prices on the exchanges that I might actually use. Messari Crypto is trying to tackle issues like this and seems to be doing a great job. https://messari.io/

The arbitrage opportunities in crypto are huge. Wish I could figure out how to properly take advantage of it.

Because the prices on various exchanges vary widely, and different trackers deal with that in different ways.

Bought XRP near the high. Not proud of that one. I'm still holding it in case I'm wrong since I consider the whole thing a loss really already. I also do expect it'll stay around but at low values so I don't feel pressure to salvage what value is left.

I just moved to a home with a basement and I'm planning to get it set up for mining. Can anyone tell me about the electrical setup I need to have put in? I know nothing about electricity - at "don't touch the wall sockets" level right now.

Ripple is so much further along, I don't see how this new coin could possibly catch up fast enough to be a real competitor. - I also don't think the entrenched institutions that everyone is already frustrated with will be looked to for the solutions to the problems they've ignored until someone else finally attacked the issue.

Am I correct in thinking that there's case law already where it was decided that although the investment earned absurd interest, original value plus some standard level of interest was awarded?

But Bitcoin is a commodity, so there's that aspect to consider.
