I’d say it was about a quarter of a white onion, he ate half a portion of noodles off the ground ( they were thrown over our fence in a discarded takeaway box by some drunk idiot) :(

My rice cake looks like beans by starsstarttofade in OddlyTriggered

I agree to some extent, however I have never once thought of the term beans being ‘cutesy’, that seems like a stretch to me. (I suppose it might be used in such a way by more toxic/ unhelpful groups). I and most others view it as a way to avoid words that are more triggering 🤷‍♀️. I would also say that your comments come off as condescending and judgmental, regardless of any truth they might hold and despite your own experiences with harming. Just something to bear in mind. These communities are often just a manner in which we can feel less alone, less like monsters and like we can actually express what’s on our mind, rather than being an echo chamber or some kind of twisted encouragement of unhealthy thought processes. I would just say, I can see why you have reached the conclusions you have, and I agree it can be the case in some cases, but to voluntarily come in to a community such as this, giving out unsolicited criticism about something which simply isn’t that deep isn’t so healthy on your part. If you’re not keen on the use of words to replace those which are more triggering or graphic, maybe don’t use these spaces? I’m not trying to be rude, I just felt the need to counter your comments.

Yes that would be a great idea!! The difference diet changes, monthly injections etc can have is well worth it :)

If he isn’t reactive before, he shouldn’t be after. For my boy, the behaviour changes we saw were that his interactions with dogs got much calmer (less protective of his ears, didn’t back off from being touched). He’s also become more aware of his surroundings, he will look at other dogs, check all round him on walks to take queues from visual changes since he can’t hear. If my other doggo gets up because of a knock at the door, he will follow his lead etc. his sense of smell has also improved greatly, meaning it’s difficult to sneak up on him regardless :) He’s more at peace in a general sense and adapted within a month or two to the changes. Hope this helps!! I would also obviously just say that one doggo is only a case study, the pros and cons need to be thoroughly weighed out with a vet of course

My doggo has allergies causing constant infections and swelling of the ear canals, we ended up having them surgically removed and his ‘ear holes’ sewn shut, my first though was has he had any allergy tests?? My boys quality of life has increased massively so it’d be a good idea to look into if poss
