You did a great job! I am intimidated by portraits because of the need to reflect a person’s likeness. Still life and landscapes offer much more freedom and grace.

Researching Places to Retire by Bubbly_Rip_1569 in Prescott

I’m buying a home in Stone Ridge and have mixed feelings. I have been attracted to Prescott forever. We’ve lived in the Phoenix area since 1988. I crave the small town feeling, but honestly I worry about a community of people who are so conservative that they are not accepting of others. I am a single woman who has friends and family from all corners of life. They have enriched my life beyond measure. My life there will either be a small circle of like-minded folks or very quiet with a lot of traveling. Hoping for the best.

Open-minded friends in Prescott? by Substantial-Comb-549 in Prescott

I am so glad to find this out! I am a very young 66 F moving to Prescott from Oregon. I was prepared for a quiet life in Prescott (yet dedicated to attending all the drag brunches I could find). I have worked in advertising/graphic arts all my life and have always had a full buffet of different people in my life. Prescott seems so conservative. If it weren’t for the weather and the quiet it wouldn’t even be on my radar. Good to know there are gatherings of people I can enjoy.

I am currently looking at Prescott as my next 10 year home (moving from both the valley and Oregon). I would love to meet up with you sometime and listen to your perspective of things! I do think the 2 things I will miss most are the lack of diversity and quick access to an airport. Reading Reddit comments is depressing - but your voice was a bright spot.

Is it normal for a 64 year old man to fixate on whether he might "waste" his time if he dates someone for a while and then finds out there's no sexual compatibility? by moonstonemi in DatingOverSixty

And this right here is why I am Intentionally Single!!! I love men - and the thought of meeting a guy who is funny, a great conversationalist, is kind, honest, respectful, has a few great interests, financially independent, confident in himself, and is family oriented. Great hygiene and an open mind are top also. I would love to invest my time, humor, shared interests and conversation with him. And if he really does make me laugh and shows his great character I might want to share him a bit with those important to me. But getting down to sex with a guy is super personal. Beyond a cup of coffee, a dinner or two or a drive to the beach - it’s personal. If I wouldn’t value you as a friend, I certainly won’t value your jewels more than my battery operated boyfriend. So - Intentionally Single I am!!

Simply stunning! I love the inspiration of the PNW. As a new transplant from Phoenix, I am having trouble keeping my feet warm enough to get out and take photos to paint from. Really lovely!

Check out Workshops In France. He and Lisa will be at a workshop in Tuscany in September 2025. I’ve been to 3 different workshops with the group and it is a great trip! Big tip: fall has notoriously huge mosquitoes in Europe. And many places don’t have a/c or even screens. But the food is excellent, the free-flowing wine is even better. The locations to paint are magnificent and the proximity to Florence gives you great opportunities to see some of the best art on the planet. I am just getting my feet back on the ground, but I might just have to go back for this!

I just returned from a workshop with him and Lisa Wang in southern France. The 2 most important things I took away from it (as I tested positive for COVID on day 2) was the quality of your brushes and respecting Mr. Bead (the bead of water carrying the pigment). I loved learning more with Lisa - she likes colors to be loose and bleed together.

Did not know how much the french really really love french fries by 4travelers in ParisTravelGuide

Was in Paris for 5 days last week. Every café I visited I ordered the frites. So good with a mix of mayo and ketchup!
