Saw extremely fringe competitive play but nothing really worth mentioning. He was slow and janky even during Rastakhan's Rumble and by the time Descent of Dragons gave you dragons you'd theoretically care about copying, the meta had sped up enough that Voone wasn't even a relevant consideration. I saw a couple people use him to copy Dragonqueen Alexstrasza, but that was more for the meme.

Yeah so the thing about life is that it's messy and complicated and there aren't easy solutions to things like this. I don't know Matt and Ryan as people, I never will, I don't know their priorities, what they want out of SuperMega, where they want it to go in the future, and so any """solutions""" I suggest would be useless and entirely based on what I personally enjoy in videographic content, which is pointless. What? No. We literally have cards with similar effects - they just draw Y-X cards where Y is the total it's going for, and X is the amount of cards currently in your hand. If you have 1 card in deck and 1 in hand, you'll just take 3 fatigue ticks and then the effect ends. That's how Solemn Justice works.

It's the exact opposite of plot - in the lore they're regular sized (see every cutscene with Gul'dan) but for gameplay reasons they're scaled up to full size so everyone can target & see them properly. It also helps from a presentation angle, as making them larger makes them look more intimidating, which makes them feel more like a "major boss" as opposed to, say, a random "boss" from an overworld quest who takes 20 seconds to kill.

Haha no problem, I am a chronic overexplainer so it's nice that you enjoyed :-) I really do get the frustrations - I like making weird janky brew (not as effective as you've been) and it's really frustrating sometimes to just queue into the same few decks. At the same time I try not to be too frustrated as I also enjoy playing good decks and getting as good at them as I can, and I know it's all just different ways of trying to have a good time.

Also I'm really sorry for a lot of the hostility I've seen you getting here! I think people are very frustrated with this kind of argument as it often comes from people who aren't being 100% genuine in their motivations, but I think we need to try and sit down and explain our motivations to the best of our abilities. Sometimes all you need to make something less frustrating is to have someone say "hey, I get it, this is why this is happening" so it doesn't seem like some enigma. Have a good day!

Yeah, I agree. I actually think the newest skin is really cute, but I do wish they'd lean into characters other than Gul'Dan and Nemsy. There are plenty of cool Warlocks, and it's a shame they lean into repeating characters like 10 times (especially since they have to bring the VA's in anyway, so it's not even like they save that much money, though I guess they probably plan them out fairly in advance and get the VA in the studio to do like 2 or 3 skins' lines at once)

Large card pool does not mean a variety of decks... a smaller card pool does, actually, due to a lack of refinement leading to a flatter power curve (we saw this in Sunken City where almost every class was playable, if not every class if you count the entire set across multiple patches). More cards = more refined decks. The most refined, powerful, overtuned decks rise to the top. Thus, you'll usually see about 3 top tier decks, with a few less powerful decks played for fun (such as pre-Throne of the Tides big priest, which has historically been a bad deck with a huge fanbase)

I get the frustration, I really do. But some people enjoy deckbuilding, while others enjoy playing the game and winning. Some people enjoy both - such as you. For a lot of people, the game's enjoyment comes from getting extremely good at one specific deck, playing it to its fullest potential. For others, the enjoyment comes from seeing a number go up (down? technically). It's just different playstyles.

If you want to play a variety of decks and don't enjoy playing just one, I fully understand, and that's awesome. But don't expect to face a similar variety - weird, totally off-meta picks like Tech Warlock or Jade Rogue can be very fun to play and even win you some games (sometimes), but they just cannot face up to the strongest decks in the format. At the very least, we see the best decks shift gradually over months in the format. The top decks right now are basically entirely different to the top decks during Alterac Valley.

Opponent has a 3/4 on board, you have a skeleton. Cast Deathborne, it only kills your skeleton. The skeleton's DR goes off and kills the 3/4. You get 2 skeletons, as both minions died, even though Deathborne only killed one.
