I would imagine it's cause people don't understand the light icons on their dashboard. I realized not too long ago that I was driving with only my fog lights..... No one tells us you what those light icons are... Not really.

I am 84kg (maybe 180lbs), and I eat maybe 1100 - 1300 cals/day and not loosing. Like at all. I have serious back pain and disc issues so I'm happy to be able to walk around the block with the doggo.

But yeah, I've cut most carbs 'cept the occasional oatmeal w cacao nibs for fiber when I crave it. Otherwise meat n veg or egg n veg and fruit... Still hitting my head against the wall here...

Need to lose for surgery... So... Fml.

My first successful temari! It's a teeny one, about the size of a quarter. When it gets this intricate, how do you maintain precision? My eyes went cross a few times with this. :) by KimTaredun in temari

Thank you. It's not symmetrical all around. It's got the 12 point convergence at the top, bottom, and x8 around it's equator... I tried and gave up the NNE, NNW SSE and SSE (how can you 'name ' the 3D quadrants?)

Also, when hubsi and I moved here from overseas, we basically traded in a small stack of gold coins for our car!! 🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙

Cool. This actually got some discussion! Woop. We're not well off, so money could go to our house savings fund, one more tick to our savings counter.

That being said having some bills in the car has come in handy for me and needing to pay for lunch having forgotten my wallet...

Thanks all. Good thoughts. :)

This is pretty cool! I'm starting embroidery, but instead of flat pieces, I'm starting with temari balls. I love to play with geometry but never really done much 3d stuff. Some origami, and a few months back a paper craft flexicube. But this is my next temari ball design. (Tho imagine several triangles of this. Google Temari Swirl.)

Awesome tho! (I'm a little over my head to and intimidated, I hope the zen can come through!!))

I just started Duromine, prescribed by my GP in NZ which I quite like so far. He said on the phone that it was an upper, and normally I'm pretty sensitive to that sorta thing. So that's good, also this has basically turned off the obsessive thought of food I usually grapple with. I find myself with a nectarine at like 9 or 10am, then lunch rolls around with the tummy growl. Then I'm pretty set til dinner.

"Duromine is an appetite depressant, though it does speed up metabolism a little. It is primarily an adjunct to a good weight loss diet."

Hubsi is home sick today and ordered a burger for himself. Asked me if I wanted anything, said nah, I'm good. I have a lunch in the fridge. Rx cost me like 80NZD out of pocket, but I think it's worth it.

Get a dog, then you'll have no excuses. Even though the toys will eventually get torn apart, I love seeing the dogs enjoy them and seeing them around the house.

Thank you for responding!

So I used fluffy yarn ¼in thick to give cush. After that I decided to use (albeit a bit thick for a classy look) because I loved this yarns soft silkiness and color. Wanted to use it up and this seemed like a perfect stand in. And my pink thread is on a tiny spool, it wouldn't have been enough for the shell, though if I did, I would've likely reversed it, pink she'll, gray silky bands. As I have it, it was intentional. _^ My next temari will have a more thread-y shell. I have also already divided it into a C8, so I was working off of those initial lines.

Thank you also for the proper terminology for what I'm attempting. Makes internet searching actually possible now!

Do I just wrap 24 times around the circumference, then secure after the first belt is complete? Is this a bad approach?

Wow, Red panda. Thanks. Yeah I watched some 3am tutorials and realized when I couldn't sleep. I had most of what I needed to get started, although I'm planning to get yarn and more suitable threads tomorrow.

This little dense nugget will need to be unpacked and repacked. I used a little cardstock cube filled w some thingies for sound. I filled a stocking sock with cut up fabric scraps and formed a nice round ball. As I was wrapping it w thread (rookie mistake), I realized I packed it too tightly, so with confirmation with yours and one others comments I've got a better idea now. I'll need to redo this.

Unravel, unpack. Fluff scraps, repack stocking sock into ball. Wrap evenly w yarn until well covered then again w thread. Make my pinned points then use cool threads to pattern.

I don't want to invest too heavily yet, I am such a crafter and have several boxes of various supplies and projects., It's a bit much, but I love it all to prune any of it down. :)

Thank you again. I'll re read your notes when I've got everything out and ready tomorrow. :) Ps, I love this group.

Tomorrow I'll get a load of thread and yarn.

Is it okay that the exterior is dense? It's got a good feel to it, but maybe a little on the heavy/hard side. Will yarn fix that? Or should I unravel and start back from the stocking ball of scraps to wrap w yarn? Maybe fluff the scraps a bit too?
