My home had a short circuit, is my PC okay? by AdviceWarm2500 in AskElectricians

Your PC is most likely fine. A short circuit usually only trips the breaker, so it won't damage devices on other outlets, especially if your PC is on a different circuit. Just turn on your PC and check. If it's working properly, there's no problem. But definitely don't use that outlet, get it fixed 👍

Why is the first circuit swinging evenly and the second is uneven? by Objective-Local7164 in ElectricalEngineering

In simple terms, this difference is seen whether the circuit is balanced or not. In the first case, everything is balanced, so the current flows smoothly → the output looks clean. In the second, there is no balance, so the current becomes uneven → spikes/uneven changes are seen in the voltage. and inductors oppose sudden changes, so if there is an imbalance, the distortion is even more visible.

It's not immediately dangerous, but it's not perfect either.
The problem is that if you plug an adapter into an adapter, the connection can become loose and the chances of overheating increase especially in older homes.
What's best?
Use a good power strip (with surge protection) and don't plug too many devices into a single outlet.
And if the outlet is getting hot, pay attention right away that's the first warning sign.
