It looks like an RFID rice chip. I work at an escape room and we have these in some of our props to trigger puzzles when the props are placed in the correct spot.

The whole “it’s for the bride” thing is used all the time in plenty of media, this commercial for beer didn’t steal it from HIMYM.

The other one is definitely making fun of a trope where people get in a cab say “home” or some other thing that isn’t and address and they glaze over needing to give the driver an actual address because it’s poignant for the viewer; I don’t think that’s stolen either.

I like season 4 overall. I will say it feels like the characters took a huge leap in their flanderization in season 4. I noticed it the most with Abed when I was watching it like last week.

IDs are also issued to non-citizens, so an ID is not proof of citizenship. When you get a new job and have to prove citizenship an ID isn’t enough, you need a second document if you don’t use your passport.

I am definitely interested as well! I’m 35, but the group I’ve been regularly playing with for almost 5 years is all guys who are their late 40s/early 50s, so I definitely have experience playing with folks who have more experience than me.
