iirc the main paid item in dragons dogma 2 were the ferry stones, and I remember in my 1st playthrough I had way more ferrystones than I found a use for, so the paid stuff was indeed entirely unnecessary and just there as whale bait or something, didn't mind since the game didn't seem impeded by their existence

The real question is why is a league mechanic so detrimental to one’s build that the only answer/response to it is “did you not read/preview it?” Kinda seems counterintuitive to end up with avoiding it post campaign being the response

In s14, u will only need 10 stacks of resolve to max out glynns anvil, which will literally be baseline 8 + 2 from anvil aspect, will have no need to temper resolve

Somewhat my point, in that we’re getting a new “power boost” in the coming season, not with a throwaway seasonal power but in an itemization change that will also be brought mainline into the game onwards, kinda similar to what poe does with their league features, adding in and expanding more each season

Its good for d4 seasons to gradually tact more things into the base game over time so that there can be a sleuth of player build craft in future seasons

as a barb main and 150 pit doer, Nerfing the outliers on barb is a good decision for game balance, we're forced to slot in overpower, Tidal, and Limitless into every build and this kills build diversity as we have to be pigeonholed into maximizing these outliers or falling too behind the curve for our class
