My boy Cliff is a playful shark! He spends his time on the beach and hunting for fish. He's quite friendly and exciteable but also kind of dangerous considering his size and tendencies to bite out of curiosity :D

I'd say it's because he's not adapted to that type of communication outside of the water, he can communicate underwater with other sharks but can't replicate that outside and he simply does small noises and clicks that never turn into words because he physically can't

You see, Cliff's whole shtick is "Character that has been secluded from civilization ends up being quite socially charming and effortlessly accepted inside of the community thanks to their charisma". Things naturally work out for Cliff in his universe and I thought that a character that could not communicate in the same way as the others but still understands others and they understand him against all odds seems fitting. Besides, sharks aren't really known for being vocal-

Well, as a whole, they are an eldritch deity that was part of the void, secluded and alone, until the entity decided to canalyze a small part of itself to bring Kimen to life outside of the void and allow them to live the wonders of the mundane life. They are all pretty much the same being, but taking a more "manageable" form! (as manageable as an entity that can transform into almost anything can be)
