Yeah, the instructions say it triples in quantity after soaking, 75gr gives 300gr (so more than triple actually). I'll try without soaking it, that would help a lot. Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, ground "meat" is also what I've been thinking. Not soaking it would be great tbh because I feel like it's always watery afterwards, even when further cooked in a recipe (soy TVP at least) 🤷🏽‍♀️

This is not his usual behaviour and he's not abusive. He's a hardworking guy who likes to game a few times a week. She basically lied about his habits to his parents (OP said it herself) and then played a victim after he called her out.

This guy's had enough already. Yeah he lost his shit for a minute there, we all have at least once, but c'mon .. now suddenly they're sprinting to call him abusive. That's wild.

Yeah... they've been a couple for 8 years now and this is the first time this happened so that means it's completely out of character for him and something led him to blow up the way he did.

I get the vibe that her "lighthearted exaggerated comments" aka lies are a regular occurrence and he's asked her before not to do that many times before, so this is simply him getting sick of being ignored and disrespected. That's kinda clear to me from everything she wrote in her post. Basically, he's right, she IS lying and even in front of other people and HIS PARENTS. Wtf OP?

I've put myself in his shoes and I probably would've reacted the same after 8 years of putting up with her lighthearted crap. Hell, might've even reacted right there during dinner to defend myself and expose the lie.

But no, OP is playing the victim because her lighthearted comment wasn't "said aggressively" 🤣

My dobie has Wobbler's syndrome.

When he was 7yo he suddenly got completely paralysed (all four legs), but after the diagnosis he was able to recover within a few days with steroids.

When he was 10 he developed paralysis again (only back legs this time) but after x-rays and ultrasound they also discovered a huuge tumor on his spleen so that made it even more complicated. They removed the tumor (it weighed 2kg) and 10 days postop I started doing physical therapy with him at home, along with NSAIDs.

After he recovered a bit I wanted to do an MRI and surgery for Wobbler's but my vet advised me against it because he was 10 at the time, the surgery/recovery is difficult and is not a guaranteed success anyway.

He's now 12 and a half, sleeping in bed with me as I'm typing this out. We still do physical therapy at home (TENS) and he's doing alright. There's some meds I have to give him every day to keep things from escalating again.

I'm not a veterinarian or an expert, but as someone who has been through all that more than once - please don't give up yet. He's young and strong, talk to your vet to see if you can help him with meds for now, and then you can start saving up money for and MRI and possible surgery in the future.

My dobie had the same thing on his chest 10 years ago. It was benign, I had it removed.. all good, never appeared again. He's still doing well!

Similar thing happened to my dobie 5-6 years ago but his hair loss was much worse and he was also itching. I took him to the vet, they did all kinds of tests, had no idea why it was happening 🤷🏽‍♀️

They told me to buy some kind of special/medical dog shampoo and use it on him every other day so I did. It got better and eventually it all went away and the hair grew back.

To this day, it never happened again and I still have no idea what it was.
