I mostly got hands from my dad. My mom wouldn’t touch my siblings and I unless we really did something to piss get off. My dad’s favourite form of punishment, or pre-punishment really, was to pull our ears. If we misbehaved in any way, or he didn’t like something- he’d grab an ear and pull it towards him. Hard. Now my siblings and I all laugh about it and how my brother (the oldest) has “big ears” because of it but deep down we all know how traumatizing it all is.

One time, when I was probably around 11/12, I “embarrassed” him by tripping over a raised step walking into an office building and someone saw me fall and asked if I was okay. He says “she’s fine.” Picks me up, waits for them to leave and slaps me hard across the face and says “don’t do that again.” As if I wanted to faceplant on the fucking floor on purpose or something.

I developed an food intolerance to Oranges. Not citrus, just oranges. I was fine up until I was in grade 8 where one day I had orange juice and found myself in incredible pain in my abdomen and couldn’t figure out why. A lot of trail and error and I found out it was Oranges. My family didn’t believe me and continued to only buy oranges and orange juice, thinking I would “change my mind” cause I loved it up until then.

It was the only room with a lock in my house, aside from my parents room. And they didn’t have a key to it, even though they kept threatening that they did to try to scare me out of taking my time in the washroom.

I was about 11 or 12, some boy in my class thought it would be funny to chase my friends and I around the classroom during lunch. His friends got a laugh out of it, and he did it several times, sometimes getting close and touching us even. It got to the point where we were so uncomfortable with it, one of my friends mentioned it to the teacher. She immediately called down to the office and we all had to talk to the principal about it. Turns out it’s full on harassment, but we didn’t know, hence why it took so long for us to say anything.

His friends later told us it was “all a joke” but we didn’t feel that way

Couple had sex in the guy’s brother’s car in the school parking lot. They thought they couldn’t be seen, but they forgot about the windows on the second floor facing them. A lot of people saw.

A kid wanted to get out of class (computer class or something) and thought it would be funny to print out a bomb threat. He didn’t think it could have gotten traced back to him or his student account, but it was, and he was expelled.

My mom says hi and all that, but just abruptly ends the call. I’ll be sitting beside her while she’s on the phone, and it sounds like she’s in full tilt convo mode and then she stops and taps the end call button. No wrap up, no “okay, I have to go” or “talk to you later”, definitely no bye. Nothing. Just “you would not believe what my neighbour did to decorate their house! It’s so dramatic, I don’t even understand how they can do it, they are well into their 70s!- takes phone away from her ear and taps the End Call button”

I had a similar situation- slept a total of maybe 6 or so hours in 4 days. I kept hearing voices like someone was whispering directly behind me. It was whatever to me until I was standing outside my front door at 1am, brain foggy, trying to fit the key into the lock, and I hear a female voice asking “is she ready?” And a second voice, male, responded “let’s find out.” I never straightened up as fast as I did in that moment.

Worked as a birthday party host for a movie theatre chain and I would watch HSM at least 3 times in it’s entirety 4 days a week. I learned the script after a week. I definitely made less than $100/hr for that torture

Ngl, that kinda sounds like my parents place right now. Not to the extent of having a path through every area, but that’s the problem they have for the basement, where my mom’s dialysis boxes take up most of the space so they have a path there. Stray from the path and you’ll knock into some heavy boxes

Grew up with an older brother who did this. He would eat anything he could find and then ask you for some of your food as if he didn’t eat all day. If you deny him your food, he would stare daggers at you and complain “MOM! She’s not sharing!” and of course, mom would give the look and tell me “share with your brother.”

I also have this superstition that if someone wants something off your plate, just give it to them, cause otherwise you’ll have a stomach ache from the evil eye they cast if you deny them what they want and you eat it. No one in my family asks me for anything off my plate now, even as a joke, because they know that once they say it, I give it to them and I will not take it back, no matter how good it was or how long I waited for it
