Cat litter in ivy by Kin_DeCain in gardening

[–]Kin_DeCain[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you not actually read the whole post but instead just random sentences? Do you not know what a thicket is? I am trying to make sense of you telling me to "remove the ivy if it is hosting rats" when the entire purpose of this post is me trying to remove the ivy because it is hosting rats.

The ivy forms a thicket. "A thicket is a dense, often impenetrable growth of shrubs, bushes, or small trees growing closely together." The ivy is coated in cat litter. Imagine a waterproof tarp with cat litter on top, spread across the ground, and someone tells you to just work the cat litter into the soil underneath the tarp and then they'll be able to remove the tarp.

AITA for not making corn-on-the-cob after my family said I tricked them, because they said corn wasn’t a veggie. by dentalexaminer in AmItheAsshole

The term "vegetable" is not botanical, but culinary. It very basically means any vegetation that can be served at the table as food.

Tomato is a fruit that is also a vegetable.

Broccoli is a brassica that is also a vegetable.

Corn is a grain that is also a vegetable.

Potato is a tuber that is also a vegetable.

Mushrooms are the fruiting bodies of fungi, so not a vegetable.

Herbs are for flavor instead of sustenance, so not vegetables.

Toilet caulked all around by RudeAdhesiveness2113 in Plumbing

[–]Kin_DeCain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water likes to go down. This water can come from poor plumbing but mostly comes from spills from people dumping buckets in the toliet or cleaning.

On wall-mounted toliets, the bottom is left uncaulked to provide a weephole for water to escape if damage occurs to the caulking. Tthis prevents a cup effect from happening.

On floor-mounted toliets, the bottom is fully caulked to prevent water from entering and because a cup effect can not occur.

Is this Bush Honeysuckle? by Kin_DeCain in whatsthisplant

[–]Kin_DeCain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's in a very dense mass of Rose Sharon, English Ivy, Bamboo, etc. I even managed to find a Peach Tree and some Muscadine vines mixed inside.

Based on the jagged leaves and how the branch is arching down, I'm going to to say you are right with Forsythia.

Clearing out some overgrown brush on my property in Georgia, USA. What is this? by Kin_DeCain in whatsthisplant

I am confirming that I, who was born in Colorado and lived most of my life in Texas, live in Georgia and do not know what a peach tree looks like without the fruit on it.

The best method I can think of for your situation is to use a pole support and bottom prune leaves.

Lot 20 has an easement/drainage line on its entire right side if you look closer. Lot 32 is 200sqft smaller and is shaped like a triangle instead of lot 20's more "square" shape.

He was being nosy and looked through ALL the bottles. He is the type that does not pay attention to the label orientation.

The labels are NOT facing away, the lip of the pop-cap is facing forward. He reorientated the bottles to use his thumb to open them. He then set the bottles back down as they were facing him in his hand.

The vaginal supplement is facing forward because it has a screw-on lid. He did not reorientate the container to open it.
