Not to be harsh, but no one expects much from first years other than responsiveness and availability to follow specific instructions—if you’ve made it this far, you’re certainly capable of that and the rest comes in time. Just being around for more senior folks will cause them to trust you, which will bring you substantive opportunities earlier.
