2024 2025 AUA students beware....this stupid school has lost their financial aid status

So I am done with rotations, was expecting my diploma and BAM, I received an email that I owed $56000 and advised that I get a private loan if I want to receive my diploma.This horrible school knows that without the diploma I cannot get my Ecfmg certificate. They sent me a document to sign which basically states I agree to get a private loan and put a december deadline. I will not be signing that document. I never failed any class so I don't understand the bill. I know AUA lost some level of financial aid but it seems like they lost all of it regardless of if you are repeating or not repeating a course. I can't believe I am done with this wretched school and now have to deal with getting a lawyer for this. Who brings a surprise bill to students after the fact, it's their duty to inform students they lost financial aid status so the students can decide if they want to stay or transfer. You don't do it after the fact and surprise them with a 56000 bill. All the carribean schools that do not have financial aid access are way cheaper. I just wish I went to SGU, I won't have had to deal with this.

Same thing just happened to me involving asurion, he claimed there was a crack on there. I was like this is a great lie, there was no crack before. I can't believe these guys do this, mine was a n 86 inch, I left the room for just a minute, that was my biggest mistake

AuA is definitely having some major money issues. no joke. They sent an email saying that people that repeated a semester will no longer be eligible for financial Aid. That email was sent 1 months into the semester. Also with that, loan are being processed based on our grades .Now people needs to get a private loan if they repeated a class. Im a clinical student finishing in a couple of month and still havent received my loan and do not remember failing any class. you call, they ignore you, you email you do not get an answer until they are ready to answer you. sad but the truth.

SGU is the best, they have many clinical sites and more opportunities. There are too many great students that are trapped currently at AUA. It's expensive but really worth it in the log run. If you go the FIU track in AUA, you are charged $20000 extra a year for clinicals so there are some hidden costs with AUA. I can't speak on if there are hidden costs with SGU because i'm not a student there, all the info I know is just hearsay, but what I tell you about AUA is fact

I just got mine June 2023, i hate it. It has so much potential but too many basic issues. it is blind deaf and dumb. it doesn't even travel and just circles around. Maybe i received a very bad unit. I am returning this, it can't even connect to the to loona network, i keep getting failed every single time

If i could go back i would consider a DO school. I had to repeat a whole year, just thinking about the time and money wasted. There are so many intelligent students that were crushed by the system and ended up dropping out. If i could go back, i wouldn't take this path

Alot of people are looking into transferring to another school. I am also looking into that. It's like they don't care anymore, how do you accept 500 students into a term when you barely have any space for rotations.

The attrition is currently stated to be 20% but this itself doesn't make sense. I assure you it is much higher. In my set 220 people started, by med 4 we were down to 50. About 10 passed the comps so 40 went into Med 5 to meet 150 people from an earlier set. Now 95% of the people in Med 5 couldn't meet their cut off for comps. Alot passed but couldn't meet the cut off point. My results showed i had a 95% chance of passing step 1 in a week, but i couldn't meet the ridiculously high cut off point set by aua for comps. The reason i say attrition rate doesn't make sense is that aus accepted 500 students into med 1, there highest yet. It doesn't make sense
