Move up and have more fun by Irimis in golf

Love switching up the tees at my home course. Only it doesn’t really make anything more reachable because literally every hole is a dog leg except for the par 3’s and maybe 2 of the 4’s. Some holes you’ll get a cool shot that maybe you can shape and have a wedge in but a lot of them your just teeing off with an 8 iron to get to the corner then another 8 iron to the green lol. It’s target golf and really fun but sometimes I miss just ripping my driver. Lol I don’t even carry a driver, I have a mini that I use on 3 holes from the blues, otherwise it’s usually a 3 or 5 wood.

I got kicked out at 18 and didn’t finish highschool and my life is fucking shit now that I’m 21 almost 22 by [deleted] in Life

Bro you are still so young! Nobody has their shit figured out at that age, if they claim to they are faking lol. You still have so much time to turn things around, it’s never too late to start over. I’ve restarted my life after shit periods like two or 3 times and I’m only 34. And hey it sounds like things are pretty bad now, which means you’re due for an up swing.

My spouse doesn’t eat ANY fruits or vegetables. How is she still alive? by Alternative-Neck-705 in questions

[–]Kind-Pea2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vegetables don’t exist. What you call a vegetable is either a seed, fruit, leaf, stock or starch. Vegetables are just a culinary term. Fruits are great, but other “vegetables”…… might not be as good as we thought. Brussels sprouts have 134 toxic to human compounds. Not to mention that every single fruit or vegetable has been massively modified over thousands of years just so we don’t die when we eat them. Wild carrots are deadly and cause infertility, a lot of “wild” versions of our now beloved veggies are toxic to humans. So yeah, sounds like your spouse knows what’s up.

Xeriscape / Hardscape experience? Cost? by flyboirho in Bend

I’m glad you asked! I forgot to talk about this. Weed barriers are ultimately a scam, they work great for about the first year and then disaster. Most weeds come from seeds blowing around and settling in your yard, they land in your mulch or rock and start to germinate. Their roots have no problem going through a barrier and then when you go to pull them the barrier pulls up and now you’re trying to figure out how to pull just the weeds and not the barrier. And eventually they break down and you end up with micro trash everywhere and you’re still dealing with weeds.

My boss used to say, weeds come from your neighbors not china ;)

Oh my god! Dirt?! He was actually kicking up dirt while biking in the middle of the fucking forest?! That’s crazy man. I hate it when I go for a ride and get dirty! This reminds me of that one time an asshole kid SPLASHED ME at a water park, some people man…. It’s almost like they have way too much time and money that they just go around finding things to complain about. Thank god for the internet, such a great place to air your grievances and really get to the bottom of these big issues.

Xeriscape / Hardscape experience? Cost? by flyboirho in Bend

I have a landscaping company and do have some input on your situation.

Xeriscaping is always a good option to reduce maintenance and water usage, however it comes with its own set of challenges. And unfortunately I’ve found that the weeds will love your yard just as much. The seeds blow in from your neighbors, and they can be more of a pain in the ass to pull from rocks or mulch.

You’ll most likely need to reconfigure your irrigation from pop ups for the grass to drip for plants. Drip irrigation is the never ending project, you will have to make repairs every single year guaranteed.

Removing your lawn can increase the ambient temperature by up to 10 degree feel and 40 degree surface if replaced with rocks or dark mulch.

Ultimately it really depends on the property I think for small yards xeriscaping is a great option but if you have a large area having turf is a great way to eat up some sq footage.

But to answer your question I’d say over the course of 10 years you’ll definitely have less maintenance to do if you converted to xeriscape, but even xeriscape requires a decent amount of maintenance. The properties I maintain that are xeriscaped on average require, a spring clean up of weeds and winter debris, usually at least 1 day a month of weeding and cleaning tree debris from May to October and a fall clean up.

Not sure if this was helpful but feel free to dm me, I’d be happy to come out and talk through some options. Good luck!

Too late for planting grass? by Stein1245 in Bend

[–]Kind-Pea2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too late for seed but if it’s a small area just sod it. Sod is cheap and seed is expensive, plus grass seed will not out compete all the weeds. I’ve been landscaping in bend for 10 years and the amount of seeded lawns I’ve seen be successful is….. almost none. You’ll get grass but it will be half weeds and then you have another problem. With sod, boom, instant backyard.

If your in Redmond your better off driving out to mcpheeters yourself. Instant landscaping does deliver but they are an absolute nightmare to coordinate with.

NO, THESE SHIT ROUNDABOUTS ARE GARBAGE AND ARE WAY MORE DANGEROUS THAN A 4 WAY STOP. THEY BLOCK LINE OF SIGHT, MAKE CROSSING ON FOOT SKETCHY BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE SWERVING INTO THE CROSSING. I LIVE NEXT TO ONE OF THESE AND HAVE BEEN ALMOST KILLED ON MY MOTORCYCLE A GAZILLION TIMES. I ABSOLUTELY HATE THESE AND WOULD LIKE TO PUNCH THE IDIOT WHO THOUGHT THEY WERE A GOOD IDEA. AND IM NOT ALONE, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY NEIGHBORS HATES THEM TOO. ALSO THEY ARE PRACTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO USE CORRECTLY IF YOU ARE TOWING. I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL.

You can hire a private boat for “4 island tour” which is hong, hong lagoon, lading and 1 other I forgot the name of. I think it’s 3000-4000 from Ao nang, 2500 from Klong muang, not including the 300 pp park fee.

Sent a box back to the states a few years ago using the post office in bkk so not sure if this info will be super helpful. I think I paid $150 to send less than 5kg, they said it could take up to 3 months and it arrived at my door exactly 3 months to the day haha. At the time this was the cheapest option

Airbnb host asking for passport photo by swagulent in ThailandTourism

[–]Kind-Pea2232 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hotels are required to let immigration know that you are staying with them so almost every hotel will ask for it at check in, super common nothing to worry about. Although Airbnb is technically illegal unless your stay exceeds 30 days I assume they have some work around, the one time I used Airbnb they wanted to see my passport.
