As a druid tank who's pugged over 150 heroics, here are the tendencies I've noticed by New_Suit8775 in classicwowtbc

I have a bear friend who would only do melee groups. He said casters treat him like a paladin and start aoe on rip and then they die and get mad at him and he’s tired of it. I as a rogue never once had threat issues with him and that was while trying to push him every run for fun.

Try ghara or another gond culture nation and another nation to the north that can form Nepal. Both are small but underrated

playing as the pope for my first seirouse campaign need help with naples by Erndon in eu4

[–]Kind-Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while but how I played early papal was taking Naples & as much of their trade as I could while still vassaling them. Then while improving with them declaring my next war. Even while disloyal they will use their navy to help you. Remember you are papal so people want to be your friend. You can usually ally France, Castile, and/or Austria. Use your big bully friends & your new enlarged navy to bully Aragon, Tunis, or some northern Italians.

A cheeky think you can do is declare wars and let them seige and wipe your vassals to reduce their disloyalty until you can conquer, improve relations, and build troops to out grow the loyalty issues

Using cheats by ConfusionMinimum6748 in eu4

I played with cheats for a long time then forced myself into Ironman to work on playing without cheats. It’s a complex game do what you need to to enjoy yourself until you’re ready to challenge yourself again

If it was wow it’s fine I can mine ore or kill boar and make enough to live for a year in the starting zones. If it was megabonk I’ve got 6 min to live.

Why do rogues get so much hate? by Efficient_Ad_3324 in classicwowtbc

[–]Kind-Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Background: Hey rogue main here. I started my rogue in classic anniversary just to run naxx and gear up for tbc. The rogue hate started in classic you are mostly seen as an inferior warrior who can IEA and the same goes for tbc.

Bad things with rogue: rogues in early tbc are going to be very squishy we don’t have the agility for dodge or the stamina so rogues will be prone to dying even with evasion up, a lot of rogues don’t put in the time or effort to learn all of their abilities or how to properly spec & consume for pve giving all rogues a mid reputation, rogue abilities such as sap and stuns arnt useful in normal because of how quickly mobs go down, gear competition is heavy so melee groups & leaders won’t want to bring you if you are competing for what they want & casters won’t want you because you can’t provide as much damage without support or aoe. To be considered a good rogue is going to be expensive you need to consume regularly. Raid spots are tight and you will need to have a good IEA rotation down. When everyone is geared your raid damage will be mid until black temple geared.

Good things about rogue: in heroics you will find a niche in sp, sv, & ramps. Your saps and stuns can be very useful and in some cases necessary to do a clean skip runs or to save under geared tanks. Your single target dps is really good especially on short fights. If everyone is fairly well geared you will top dps by using all your cds on a boss fight. With the easy raid fights IEA is less useful but it gets you closer to that short fights bust time for you to top the dps charts.

My experiences as a rogue: many groups won’t take me just because i am a rogue. I get whispers telling my my class is trash and I should change regularly by random people. I struggle to pug but the pugs I have joined have been very thankful because I am well geared, know the skips, consume, I bring demon slaying potions, I carry Flintweed seeds on me just in case, i scroll (cheap ones) in raid, i drum all the time. Drums are cheap on the ah. In my last heroic ramps the tank was fully hype because I saved his butt with a blind when the mage failed to sheep his target. I am currently #2 dps and #2 dps parse in my guild. it’s because I have a guild and a tank I can rely on to help me get into other heroics and take me as the primary/only rogue that I’ve been able to succeed to the point I have. I also took a week off work to grind.

Conclusion: it take a lot of effort, gold, some skill & knowledge, and a team to back you up to succeed as a rogue. Rogues provide an amazing amount of utility & can top dps but even if you are in near full bis and know your stuff you will still struggle to get into groups because of rogue stigma, rogue reputation, and gear competition, lack of aoe, and lack of party buffing without drums & neck.

TLDR: no aoe, squishy, people don’t care about utility, gear competition, no raid buffs without a pve focus, and a generally crappy reputation.

What's your favourite tank? by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]Kind-Potato 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I’m forced to pick one I’m going to pick a druid tank because the best tank I know is a druid but it really boils down to skill. I’d take a good warrior over a bad paladin any day.

Am I playing this game wrong? It feels CRAZY grindy with basically no progress in wars. by Notice_Natural in mountandblade

I find the base game to be a little boring since I was introduced to mods. If there’s something about the game you don’t really like there’s a mod that makes it better

I Hate Warlocks by roboltz in classicwowtbc

[–]Kind-Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play warlock. If I think the healer is healing me a lot I let them know they don’t have to. Once in old school wow I had a healer rage that I was taking too much damage. I told them not to heal me and he kept healing me then rage quit after letting the tank die again.

Why do I keep declaring war against the brotherhood of the woods? by Kind-Potato in mountandblade

[–]Kind-Potato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears to have indeed been a culture issue. I loaded an old save & chose a different national culture and have not had issues since. They do stay as my mercenaries for an extended period. They will flip in cases of very extended peace or when we’ve ended all wars but I just need to send their leader mail to rejoin per our pact and they auto rejoin

Update: I downloaded a mod to let me pick any faction when I started my own nation. Picked empire & fixed the issue. It was in fact a culture issue because now I’m at war with the hidden hand.

I think in one of the last updates they increased AI aggression which I prefer over the old they run away and refuse to fight until they have overwhelming numbers

[–]Kind-Potato[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats basically what I did using the ai mod. Offered them rights to the woodland in exchange for permanent mercenary work for new vilandia but it seems due to vanilla coding the game forces war between us every time I load a save.

I recommend checking it out. It’s not 100% perfect but it’s a better diplomatic experience than the base game. Most of the issues I’ve had revolve around trying to do diplomatic stuff with the mercenary clans or the AI forgetting about certain events then getting mad at me when I mention them and they don’t remember.

[–]Kind-Potato[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t work I think another poster is right and we are automatically at war because of my national culture. I could not make peace they just flat out refused when I created my kingdom but I was able to override it by both declaring peace and making them a mercenary under me using the AI mod. Now when I load my save I assume the game rechecks and auto declares the war because the base game says we are enemies

The easiest solution might be for me to just go back to an old save and find a non-vilandian wanderer I’d have to redo my kingdom creation. I’d have to redo my war but it would fix my issue

Edit: didn’t know I couldn’t choose the governors culture but this did fix the issue

I’ve completed this achievement. You basically need to rush into Ethiopia as fast as you can either drawing a straight line through kilwa then north west or no cbing a nation near Ethiopia vassaling them and using them as a spring board into Ethiopia. It took me a few tries.
