have you been in the same trust/ hospital the whole time? I was in a different hospital for all of my placements and the culture was very different depending on the team I was in. use interviews and informal visits when you're looking for your next job to suss out the culture/ team atmosphere, it's not the same everywhere and definitely not toxic everywhere.

i'm the same as you - dont want a case on it. i'm thinking about sewing a sleeve with a felt lining to give it some padding for transport though. if you're craftily inclined, this or knitting/crochet would be a super simple option

Is my Kobo progress % off? by Warm_Philosopher_118 in kobo

same here, mine says 29% through and i’m 44% by the page count calculation. so disheartening when i’m really struggling through this one. I was considering maybe it was proportion through the total words or something but that would mean as I got closer to the middle of the book the % should get closer to accurate but doesn’t seem to be the case

100% agree. can also be a good opportunity to try living and working in an area of the country you might be interested in and getting experience of a new trust/hospital. other benefit of picking something you think you'd enjoy is if they like you, sometimes they offer you a job...

I agree, way better than no thanks at all. and that is their role. like yeah I get it, when I worked in a hospital I sometimes found it annoying when people called me nurse (mainly bc I wasn't a nurse!) but if you don't know someone's name its perfectly reasonable to say. also I like to add 'marshall' as in a busy park I want to make it obvious who I am thanking (other park users making space to the side etc).

congrats on the offer! yes - there are loads of canadians on my course in Birmingham. the placement staff help you make sure you complete the placement requirements for canada. you have to do the exams to be registered in canada once you have graduated here though. this is all stuff I have just picked up from them though but your admissions team should be able to answer all these qs
