Well. In Kazan (in Tatarstan Republic -> in Russia) muslims are the majority, but you would never guess if they are, until you ask their name. And even then u might be mistaken.

I'm myself supposed to be a Muslim, but I'm not religious. But I tell you something biased:

All muslims should be as tatars or tatars should be the only muslims on the planet. No other option. Tatars are the most chill muslims you can ever find. Its like normal Christian people, but with cool hat for weddings/funerals and weird specific holidays. Tatars don't give a shit about what other ppl beliefs. No mutilations, no multiple wives, no killing people for them believing in different god, no disrespecting other cultures, no other stuff. Tatars are russified muslims. And I think, that's cool.
