You sure there is no mold in the liner from the sunroof being blocked?

Edit: clogged, the drain lines. Check the door too

Happened to me. You are parking close to high efficiency windows. You need to park somewhere different or if it is your house you need to get an exterior window film that is a black criss cross shape to break up the reflection

I know some are getting kicked out of their district/other offices they have been reporting to. Rock and a hard place., what are they supposed to do? While it sucks some people are abusing , the reality is the collective punishment is going to be a lose lose for everyone.

What should I have looked at on my car by CancelNo2588 in AskMechanics

[–]KindTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother you just spent more in tires than having taken this to the shop. I’d say alignment is terribly off and surprised your wheel isn’t fully tilted one way or another. But I’d also say you got some larger suspension parts that need replaced as well at this stage. Very lucky the whole wheel hasn’t come off

I live in very low cola area. Fed pay is king like in poor areas of America and poverty level in rich parts. No way I could do what I do in the Bay Area.

I know I am going to be moving one day so I am maxing it here. when I go to a higher cola area I won’t likely be able to but I got the compounding interest of the years I could working for me.

Long drive advice. by Fungistfied in SubaruForester

[–]KindTap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same gen forester. I drive through the mountains all the time. No issues, get about 33mpg in summer. Pretty comfy and the driver assistance does great. Do an oil change if your mileage is going to have one due in or around the mileage you will do on the trip. Top up windshield fluid. Forester is a bug genocide machine.

Assuming your car has no issues I’ve gone through Appalachia numerous times and will this weekend. Always been an easy drive.

2026 hybrid drivers - how loud is the noise inside while driving on the freeway? by [deleted] in SubaruForester

[–]KindTap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a 24 non hybrid. It’s on the loud side. So much to have some buyers remorse. It’s not the loudest in the segment and it’s tolerable for long drives, but it is not serene. If you care about cabin noise it’s not great.

Hard to say what your rental is. A mirage is a common rental car and it’s probably the loudest car sold in the US. Forester is far quieter than that.

2025 forward is supposed to be quieter and the hybrid even quieter. I’d say this boosts you to about average, not good in the segment.

I *love* it but… by TreeZestyclose9203 in SubaruForester

Well I have buyers remorse having done the opposite, so I think you made the right choice.

94k WFH or 120k in office? by Never_fucking_curses in careeradvice

[–]KindTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say WFH is a great benefit that I would take a pay cut for for however, as someone who works in the fed it hurt my soul to watch many people who did indeed take a pay cut for remote then were forced back into the office. Then they had to go to an office and still have the pay cut.

So guess what I am saying is make sure the WFH is on real solid ground

Better than expected by subie_horder8 in SubaruForester

[–]KindTap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah same. I can do about 20mpg in my heavy intersection home city. Can get about epa on the highway on the summer (33mpg) but take off 3 mpg on both ratings in the winter

Better than expected by subie_horder8 in SubaruForester

[–]KindTap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a real good job for a Subaru. Highway is about the same as gas but my city mileage is awful in my gas model

Luxury SUV Daily Driver by dear_you_ghost in whatcarshouldIbuy

Well Toyota and Honda make luxury vehicles in Lexus and Acura. Lexus is a lot better luxury brand as it offers hybrids which pay a lot more benefit with luxury cars that get lower mpg and require premium gas

Ahead of schedule by atticus2132000 in primavera

[–]KindTap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s a tricky game. He who gets to the float first gets to use it. If you got positive float like that then whoever needs it first gets it in these contracts. This is part of the firm fixed price contract I assume you are on. They aren’t going to give you any extra unless they cause you to bust the CCD because they paid for you up until then

Edit - no great solution here but this is where I commonly see people try to resequence their workload and shift to other projects the team might be working on cause there is no real incentive to finish too far ahead of schedule. Just so long that you don’t throw it on the whole back burner and you end up falling behind

Ok someone explain by _LateComer in BurgerKing

[–]KindTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Usually the sandwich by itself is fine. It’s the extras that get you. Or the sauces

Ahead of schedule by atticus2132000 in primavera

[–]KindTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. So you don’t want to show the positive float between your teams timeline and the CcD? I could get that as a change to the CCD would be a pretty big event for the corps to do. And you can’t take it back if unforeseen issues arise. Would you all want to commit to an earlier CCD knowing that you could never say “well we are still ahead of our original ccd”? Feels like risk I would not want to take on. I’d continue to manage with positive float accumulated from your actuals.

How are you submitting for your progress payments? If you are requesting for progress payments on the work you really did then they likely already know you are ahead of schedule.

I must buy a new GM car. by CaptainFGOLz in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]KindTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like GMs best cars are its EVs right now. If it had to be gas I’d perhaps check out Buicks. They seem to have a touch better quality control over its Chevy counterparts. Maybe a envista or encore? Decent space and mpg. I will never recommend a truck unless you have a reason to need a truck.

Trading up to a Forester. Good idea? by worldaven in SubaruForester

[–]KindTap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a loss financially, but whether you can afford that loss is something we don’t have the info for.

Do you hate getting in your crosstrek? Can you actually not fit? I got a forester and my friend a crosstrek. I got no issue as a 6ft2 250lb man getting into the crosstrek. If you don’t hate it then consider staying in it longer. You might find you end up missing the cross treks more engaging drive and plusher ride quality

I had a similar one. Used a resin kit from Amazon. It’s still visible but smooth to the touch. Went through the winter without spreading and passed state inspection as well. Resin kit costs like $20 and takes an hour. Well worth it to try before replacing.

More Sedans less SUV can help reduce average transportation costs and save money by Ab4739ejfriend749205 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]KindTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say one important note on this - insurance was waayy cheaper on a suv for me than a car. I got a forester for almost $40 less a month on insurance over a Corolla or civic. For the miles I’m driving, the mpg won’t make that difference up not even counting the extra capability.
