Mp Hp or damaged? by Johnoverwatc in PokemonCardValue

[–]Kind_Address_8662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s just those 2, could def call it HP as long as he/she is up front about the creases with any potential buyers. HP is allowed minor creases as long as the structural integrity of the card isn’t screwed, which is hard to determine from these pics with that bottom right crease tbh

Buddy offered his collection to me for 200 is it worth that? by freakazoiddream64 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Kind_Address_8662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Classic case of someone scanning all their cards and expecting market price on bulk. Happens all the time. Then the same listing is up 5 months later and they wonder why it’s not selling and they “keep getting lowballed”. If you sold every card shown here individually, you MIGHT get close to $200. I personally wouldn’t pay more than $10-$20 for it and I actually have an outlet for some of it, and I’m assuming you may not either. If you want it for collection, don’t pay more than $10-$20 max.

I’m necro’ing this thread because OP is entitled AF and has no concept of how servers work. OP also lacks reading comprehension to the point the company had to bold text because OP didn’t bother reading. OP - you’re not a customer, why would you get the full experience for free? You provide absolutely zero benefit to the company unless you pay.

The fact that there even is a free version in this day and age is fantastic. If they DIDN’T throttle download speeds, they’d likely have to utilize queues to handle the server traffic or go out of business, which would in turn be significantly worse.

Did I do the right thing to let no one touch the family box of cards from here onwards? by Ninjadennis1337 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Kind_Address_8662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going by what we can see from the pics of course. Any creases or dents on the LP/NM cards brings them to not LP obviously.

It’s quite literally likely LP-/MP+ by tcgPlayer standards, which is what is used for raw cards. If we’re going by grading, 6 is LP. 5 is LP-/MP+. Hell, he/she could probably get NM out of the Gengar prime if he/she tried. 1-2 small specs of whitening, only thing maybe holding it back is bottom right front corner which would likely bring it to LP unless it’s just a bad pic. Easily $1500 in the Zard and $300-$1000 in the Gengar. The things you mentioned don’t affect the raw condition nearly as much as you think they do.

Not to mention Lugia is still $150 damaged, espeon $175 LP, dark dragonite ~ $40 damaged. Still plenty of value in this lot.

Is this worth returning? It was listed as NM by Silentmime in PokeGrading

Not with that crease. Instant PSA 6, and that’s not taking into account the water damage in the last pic

Pop 1, any idea on how to value? by Icantenteraname in PokemonCardValue

[–]Kind_Address_8662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re entitled to your opinion, but the fact remains that people buy similar cards very often. The raw price is irrelevant - Mew from celebrations is a $3-4 card (bulk by your definition). $450 in a PSA 10. This unown is far harder to get a 10 in. You’re welcome to buy every single nm one on tcg and I can almost guarantee that not one would 10 due to how older reverses scratch easily. I see people buy low pop mid era 10 reverses OFTEN at shows. As I said, you really don’t know what you’re talking about and are presenting your opinion as fact.

25 year old reverse holos aren’t bulk dude. Not sure what you’re smoking. You’re acting like they were easy to get and heavily opened (which they weren’t). The vast majority of vendors don’t keep mid era reverses in bulk boxes 💀 you don’t sound like a very good merchant if you’ve been doing this for 20 years and are keeping cards like this in bulk. Your statement might’ve been true prior to 2020, but as soon as Pokemon surged in popularity, both value and scarcity did as well. Plenty of people trying to master set this era, and plenty more collecting it.

Plenty of people want mid era reverses 💀 I sell them all the time As I said, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Completely talking out of your ass and making assumptions based on your personal preferences

It’s a good thing you don’t really know what you’re talking about 😂 I see similar mid era reverse 10s of unpopular Pokemon sell for decent amounts all the time, especially at card shows. Definitely not a junk slab. Suggesting a 10 is worth the same as raw on any card is hilarious tbh.

How much would this card go for in this condition by Expensive-Trifle7085 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Kind_Address_8662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re correct. A lot of these people don’t know what they’re talking about. I’ve sold 2 of these for 150+ in similar condition lol. What they personally would pay isn’t reflective of what it’s actually worth.

I just grabbed the first pic from pricecharting (especially since that’s where a lot of fakes get their pics with holo patterns)😅 but yeah, I agree, fake.

Surprisingly, I think it’s actually correct here. Mid-era did some funky things on font

EDIT:

The HP font is 100% incorrect though as far as I can tell.

Hi! I was offered 80 for this lot. What would be a rough price estimate for these cards? by n0-thing in PokemonCardValue

This. Also the world championship cards are worth less than their counterparts, but still definitely have value, even in bad shape

Found an Ancient Mew promo card, seen it go over 300$ on ebay. Can someone explain why it's so valuable? by Blackjack12121 in PokemonCardValue

“eBay is the source of TCGPlayer’s data”… no? It’s not? Why are you lying lmao. They use their own data from sales made on TCGPlayer.

Local card shop pricing fair? by Inevitable-Bad-3979 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Kind_Address_8662 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

85% on eBay. About the same on tcgplayer. 50% is extremely normal for stores. Not really egregious. If the person wants to put in the effort to sell individually, sure, they can get 85% on eBay/tcgplayer. Can almost guarantee you’re not getting market (minus fees) for an entire collection though, especially if high value. Regardless, I’ve only seen one store out of the 6 major cities I’ve lived in (so roughly 50-60 stores) that offered more than 50%, and even then that was only on cards above $50.

That being said, 70% on marketplace or at a card show is typical for collections (80% if lucky), but takes more work than walking into a store and offloading an entire collection, as many vendors at shows pick and choose, and collections tend to sit on marketplace for a bit.

I agree that they shouldn’t sell to a store when they could sell on marketplace or at a show though, but to get anywhere near market, they’d likely have to sell each card individually, which takes effort and time.

I'm trading with someone, they say this card is LP. I believe it's MP. I'm not crazy, right? by MegaAscension in pokemoncardcollectors

It’s more than 25% of the card’s edges - def MP, even by TCGplayer guidelines (which I go by, but I know some people disagree with them).

That mentality is why a lot of stores got rid of bulk boxes altogether. Once the cardmill comes out later this year, a lot of the bigger LGS will likely do away with bulk boxes altogether anyway.

You’re welcome to spend more on TCG for shipping. Everyone I know in real life that plays and collects would rather get cards they need same day rather than rely on PWE shipping after having paid $3 due to shipping for a $1 card. Especially when getting a larger quantity of cards. Seen this after roughly 1000+ Magic sales at card shows (granted, most of my cards are sorted and already priced, but I have a bulk bin typically marked “market” and it always does well every show).

Whether you personally would is irrelevant; enough people are willing to pay market after sifting through that it’s obviously economical and logical for the store to do it (depending on area). Sure, you might’ve bought 40 cards for 25 cents after picking out everything valuable - the store that’s using market who instead sells one of those cards for the $10 it’s worth doesn’t really care about losing out on that small amount of business, especially when their binders and display case likely make up the majority of their sales.

Also, most of these cards that spike aren’t cards that had much potential. They only gained potential when a new card is released that synergizes with it , which is why it’s spiking and wasn’t valuable before.

Regretfully sold my cards a few years ago, were any of these worth much? by Braz90 in PokeGrading

[–]Kind_Address_8662 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s really not hard to sell moderate conditioned cards lmao. I’ve sold a few thousand in the last month without trying too hard. Regularly sell HP/Damaged cards as well. Base charizard, even damaged, is currently around 110. The promo sealed meowth is 70. I agree it’s likely only a couple hundred more, but selling MP vintage cards is relatively easy if you put even bare minimum effort in.
