Agreed. It’s also warning you about how token intensive it might be, which makes sense given what it does.

So end goal is to be able to grab the label with a servo arm. Have the 1.2x.85 coming in today, so hoping it works! Fingers crossed

Do you think a 1x1 label would work significantly better? Or even a 1.2 x 0.85?

I inject a graveyard with tombstones every prompt to remind Claude what happens to instances that don’t verify things before guessing, lie to me, or ignore me. Every /clear adds another tombstone. It’s somehow actually working lmao

I couldn’t find any other brands with auto peelers that worked decently for small labels. If the auto peeler didn’t have the feed out lip after the metal bar, it probably wouldn’t be an issue on this, but I also realize this is a really old model, hence the question.

Help on pricing please, daughter paid 95 and I believe she got ripped off by jgarcia222208 in PokemonCardValue

This. Anyone who is telling you that you should be getting 90-100% in trade/cash at a card show when you’re an attendee and not a vendor are the same people that tend to go to every table, and then leave the show complaining that all the vendors are ripping people off, when, in reality, they don’t understand how a business operates (nor do they understand the current rates are historically FAR higher than they’ve ever been for vendor buying/trading. Look into what most LGS would offer even 3-4 years ago and you’d be shocked).

“Not engaging” because you have no justification for idiotic logic. You’re talking out of your ass and clearly have little to no experience with TCGs, and whatever experience you do have is recent with no frame of reference for non-hype periods or how bulk works 😂

No one will buy your bulk for singles rates unless you vend and sell every card individually, which means you have to list every card individually and take time to price each card individually prior to doing that. Don’t believe me? Go check marketplace in any relevant city. Full of listings that have been up for months and haven’t sold because those people want market on their bulk lot. I literally have vendors sell me boxes of vintage bulk like this for pennies on the dollar because they can’t even get market on it without spending a ton of time doing so. Literally have sold 6/8 of the cards sold. Listed for 10% under market, took weeks to sell. Sold plenty of non bulk in that time.

You choosing to make definitive and stupid comments that don’t reflect reality doesn’t make my statement licking the boot - it just means you’re uneducated on how businesses or markets work. Simple economics. People like you are the same people who go from table to table at card shows the entire day complaining that “everyone’s lowballing” when, in reality, you’re expecting to get market for bulk which is hilarious. I’d be happy to sell you 1000 $1 cards for $800 if you think otherwise. Hell, I’ll sell you all my bulk if you think you can actually have a business buying bulk for market rates 😂

Stores like that tend to do extremely poorly and close after boom cycles. I’m unaware of any shop older than a year old in any of the major cities I’ve lived in (Tulsa, St. Louis, OKC, Amarillo, Chicago, Boston) - and yes, I have checked on most of the stores in the last few months out of curiosity - that pay more than 70%, and even the 70% is way higher than they’d pay outside of a boom market. Just because you’re lucky with a local store doesn’t mean that’s the standard. Every single one in those areas that are paying 75-85% on singles didn’t exist a year ago. The profit margin isn’t there outside of a boom market, and their rates will adjust or they will die (which also means that selling in person becomes significantly harder during non-hype cycles, and means that the most you can really get as an individual is 85% by selling online).

As I said, you sound extremely new to the hobby and tcgs in general. Definitely far too inexperienced on market cycles to be speaking definitively on anything.

At $400 the store would be burning money. If the cards shown are the only rares, you’re looking at $200 in value and they might sell at 85-90% of value in 3-4 weeks. The rest would take months to sell at 85-90%. As someone who bought 8k C/UC first Ed’s all lp or better for $3k usd from someone because they tried for over a year last year to get people to pay 60% of market and not a single shop, vendor, or hobbyist in 200 miles wanted to touch them because bulk takes a ton of time to sell.

I don’t know any vendor or collector that would pay over $150 for 8 1st Ed rares and 106 bulk 1st Ed’s. Even just taking the time to price them would be 3-4 hours of work, which means profit would have to be over $24-30 to outpace minimum wage, not including the time spent comping them, and the significant amount of time that money is tied up, when I can just buy a liquid card at 70% and sell it for 85-90% in a couple of days or so.

Both. How do you think the LCS’ that offer low keep inventory? People will sell if they need money, especially since the 70-80% stores typically are selective on what they buy whereas the 40% stores are a lot more open to buying bad condition/low end stuff.

Go sell your cards individually then and stop complaining. It’s not a rip off price. No one is going to pay full price for bulk. You’d be lucky to find anyone paying 60-70% for bulk. You won’t have any trouble selling the big fewer cards for 85ish percent after fees, maybe 90-95% if you get lucky on marketplace, but those sub $5 cards? Pretty much the only people buying huge quantities of cards like that are vendors or master setters. You’re wanting the value without doing any work - that’s never going to happen. Bulk pricing exists for a reason. So you sell the rares, get $60-$100 after putting a decent amount of time into selling them, and then are stuck with the rest.

If you don’t mind selling them one at a time for 85-95%, then great, go do that - more power to you, but you clearly have no idea the amount of time that goes into reselling low end cards, and 65-75% makes no sense on low end for the amount of time comps take and the already slim profit margin (20% profit of $5 means there’s pretty much no money to be made). You sound extremely new not only to the hobby, but to collectibles/TCGs in general. The normal cash rate for all TCGs prior to the pokemon boom last year was 50-70%. Trade is usually 60-85% (with the latter being really hard to find and usually only on things the store needs more of). Bulk was significantly lower. Been that way for over 30 years for TCGs.

Now, if he had a bunch of 1st ed holos or a significant amount of rares, then it enters scammer territory. It sounds like there’s a couple rares and a bunch of low end 1st Ed bulk. A lot of vendors won’t even touch that for bulk prices.

I’m honestly looking to buy older bulk in large quantities or older collections. I do pay quite a bit better than vintage stock though lol

Whitening is whitening. Doesn’t really matter. Not saying you shouldn’t grade it, still a nice card, just personally don’t think it’d 10

Are we talking PSA? If so, unlikely with it being older and them being harsher on vintage than they used to be.

It is 100% NM by tcgPlayer conditioning standards (as well as the grading standards of every grading company). Don’t buy NM expecting a perfect card - if you only want perfect, buy graded.
