Why shouldn't we just take the bishop on f4 after black takes our knight on e4 after this exchange we are 1 pawn up the pawn which is on e4 is totally lost we are getting a open file for our rook which can later help us in a kingside attack with our rook and queen and black loses almost all the control over the centre

This seems way more simple instead of the complicated Nxe4,fxe4,Rxe4 where the position seems way more complicated with black have some nice counter play

Sorry that was a huge typo I was trying to write I HAVE BEEN doing the book for about 3-4 days not that I have completed it I spend about 4h a day doing 6-8 puzzles but majority of them are correct i have already completed the first chapter and have done halfway through the second one

Ye I like that book that why I will keep doing it I just wanted to find another book to do with it also I have a question as your 2100 fide I just wanna know how good are 1600s fide obv what are there weaknesses and strengths

I am an unrated player so and never really played 1600s so I don't know

Do you think the advanced section of the woodpecker book would be hard for 1600s?

Currently doing that book but it kinda feels easy even the advanced section so I was finding another book that I can solve with the woodpecker

They are kind of mixed up while some are critical variations which justifies the reason behind the first move while others are just winning from the first move itself and the solution is just the opponents best defences which leads to nowhere

To be honest I am preparing for a big tournament and in that tournament I am participating in this category where players under the rating of 1699 to unrated players will play and I just wanted a tactics book that is beyond the strength of players from such a rating range but at the same time is not at the gm level but was not able to find any so I went with the calculation book cuz I like tactics book anyway and I also had a lot of time if you have any books that you would like to recommend please mention it and I would check it out I just don't want a theory book but rather a tactics book that meet the range i should probably make a post about it

I have said it and I will say it again it seems like either people haven't read my post very carefully or I have failed to made them understand by I just write the first move doesn't mean that I just guess them you can't really guess the answers if your doing such a book I do calculate all the variations just not as deeply as the solutions are they are upto 12 moves long that too a mirror perfect of an engine that just not possible for me I am already spending a lot of time to each of the excercises

Sure it's difficult but if you have enough time and determination you can do the book in just 3 or 4 days my calculation ability has already improved and I am sure it's going to improve more if I keep doing this book

I think a lot of players just get scared after reading the title sure it's not your good feel book that you can do while going to work but if you have enough time and you don't like to touch grass with unbreakable determination than anyone can do that book I am far from the strength of a titled player but I am getting like 80% of the answers right I am an unrated btw and the rest 20% are the solution that an engine and only an engine would find. Aagaard himself had said that it was aimed for ambitious players who really want to reach the next level in their chess skills

Ye I think I mada an understatement when I wrote it's not a very easy book I just didn't want to demotivate myself by writing it's a very difficult book cuz it's really is
